TYAN Unveils the UP Platform that supports the New Intel® Xeon® Processor 3400 series

Fremont, CA, September 7th, 2009 - TYAN, an industry-leading server platform provider, today unveils its new UP server platform powered by the Intel® Xeon® processor 3400 series. The TYAN S5502 single-socket server platform offers a compact design and superior performance at a lower cost compared to previous generation products.

The TYAN S5502, based on the Intel Xeon processor 3400 series and the embedded Intel® 3420 chipset, provides Intel ® Turbo Boost Technology, Intel® VT, and Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology. The Intel® 3420 chipset makes the new TYAN product extremely cost effective when coupled with a with smaller form factor design that together will deliver greater expansion and storage features than what is available in other server environments.

The TYAN S5502 offers the full functionality that is required in a standard UP server platform. The S5502 supports (1) Intel Xeon processor 3400 series, (6) DDR-III DIMM slots, and (2) GbE ports in an ATX form factor. This design can be easily installed into a standard pedestal chassis for most entry level applications in Workgroups, SMB and Education environments.
