I've been a scan customer for a good many years.
Earlier this year I bought all the bits for a new system. Everything arrived promptly as ordered and nicely packed, as expected, oh except for the keyboard which I never ordered. I don't know whether that was a deliberate freebee for spending £1k or just a mistake ;-)
Prior to this I've bought odd components here and there, memory, disks, stuff like that and never any problems.
A few years ago I bought a complete, built system for my wife (a 1GHz Athlon when that was state of the art). I'm typing this on it now.
And before that I bought the bits to upgrade my Pentium 2 system to an AMD 750 and that to an Athlon 1GHz.
With all this (must have cost me > £3k) the only thing I've ever RMA'd was a CD/RW with a stuck tray. They replaced it in a few days with no trouble.
Speaking of trouble, whenever I've phoned their sales line they are always really helpful. Want to know whether the 2-3-4-4 XYZ ram is better than the 2-4-2-2 stuff, just ask. Want to know whether the PSU is powerful enough, or whether the CPU/Mobo/Mem combination is compatible, just ask.
I work with people who have bought from other etailers and they are mostly fine, as long as you don't have to send anything back, but scan have always been really good to me. I now don't bother looking elsewhere. I might be able get the odd component a little bit cheaper elsewhere, but my confidence in scan is sufficient that I don't risk it
***** 5 stars.
