In my experience the stock levels are really bad, they claim an item is in stock, and then when it gets to shipping it turns out not to be in the warehouse. They did this to me twice for the same order, and only informed me via e-mail 5 minutes before the phone lines close, so it wasn't possible to change the item to one which is in stock/on the shelf. The best way to solve this issue is to provide realtime stock levels which are accessible through the website, so the purchasers knows that if there is only one item in stock, then it is a risk they take. Oh yer - I also managed to get Scan to change the order to a Saturday delivery (for a slight surcharge), but that was one of the times they claimed an item wasn't in the warehouse. I phoned on Saturday to complain, but there wasn't anything they could do until Monday, and they couldn't say if items would then be out of stock when picked. It would also be useful to provide an option to part ship items if some turn out not to be in stock/warehouse. This should be done at the point the order is raised. I've now learnt to order the items via the phone, as then I can be sure of stock levels, and the items SHOULD be kept for the order, and possible to get them to check the stock levels in the warehouse. |

My order was handled very courteously, professionally and quickly. The computer, when it was delivered, was extremely well packaged and on inspection very tidily built. All software had been installed and the system had been comprehensively stress tested. The entire build and testing process had been thoroughly documented. bought some water cooling accesories and fan the thermal compound i ordered said in stock but was out had to wait 2 extra days for order but scan were very helpful in changing the out of stock item for one in stock and were extremely helpful first time i ever used SCAN very pleased the text messages to let me know about the delay and despatch were nice CHEERS SCAN:) |

Bought motherboard, CPU and RAM with a few odds and ends. System failed within short time of install, so returned under RMA. Parts were tested very quickly and the CPU declared dead the other parts OK. Some sort of delay in the parts being returned, but they turned up after a week and a bit which isn't too bad. Sadly the system died again, this time really fast. Parts returned again and a refund issued. The delay of over a week between invoice for replacement parts and the package going out was irritating, otherwise I would have been very impressed in a situation that with some suppliers could have gotten nasty. |

Since used scan and the experience was much better. I've amended scores accordingly, but will leave the original problems: Ordered up the pieces to build a new system totalling almost £700 on Sunday - all parts in stock at the time of ordering. Despite promising to e-mail me with any problems, I had to contact them on Tuesday (promised delivery date) to find out why my order had not yet been dispatched, only to find the GFX card I wanted was nil stock. I was given the option to change for another or remove it from my order. I chose to take another card (not really the one I wanted though). Approximately 6 hours later, I received another e-mail from them stating that the heatsink I ordered was also out of stock. This is despite the fact it was in stock at the time of ordering and also in spite of the fact they promise that in the event of a shortage in one component, all others will be held until a replacement / alternative is sourced. Clearly one of the following is true: Scan do not hold orders when there is a stock shortage of a single item (as they claim) OR They have absolutely no idea of what they actually have in stock. Otherwise they would have told me about the two shortages in the original communication. Bottom line was, the parts which were meant to be with me by Tuesday would now arrive on Friday at the earliest, provided they did not have any other "shortages". This was the first time I had used Scan - not impressed. I have cancelled the order, and also notified my credit card company. It would appear to me that despite the positive feedback on this site, these guys are either cowboys or amateurs. Either way, I'm not risking them taking a single penny off me. Will not be using again. I thought their prices were too good to be true, it appears I was right... |

I bought a KLG - 520 Wireless Notebook Card along with 50 DVD-R, 100 Ritek CDR and MX-1 Thermal paste. Now, I'd noticed that the gap from the order going in to the order being dispatched was a bit bigger than usual but this is mostly due to it being Conroe season and Scan have had the good decency to explain that they're extremely busy - hence the delay. The order arrived with all the bits in spotless condition and packed securely as always but what's got me smiling is that I managed to pick up a Super G Wireless Card for £3.99. I plugged that bad boy into my Linux Laptop and I was on the internet in under 45 seconds (literally). In fact, I'm currently using said machine to type this up. The only thing that might pose a problem may be the lack of certain products (i.e. watercooling blocks and accessories, Jetway motherboards) which forces me to use alternative sites as well as the delays in processing orders but this is no real fault of Scan and these are minor grievances. I recommend Scan to everyone I know as they have never let me down and their special deals are killer. I'm as happy as Larry and if you'll excuse, I'm going Hotspot Hunting :cool: |

Good price, free delivery, everything in good condition when it arrived. However I eventually had to split my order to avoid items going out of stock whilst waiting for other items to come back in stock so it ended up taking more than 2 weeks to receive my order. |
