I bought an Abit NF7-S v2.0 from OcUK 2 months ago. It was advertised as v2.0 (the v.1x has been out of retail for over a year). When I received it, I saw that I had been given a v1.1, USED, board. There was dust on the NB fan and rear ports. Additional cables in the box were loose, static bags weren\'t sealed etc. I reported this to OcUK immediately and asked for an RMA. To be fair to them they replied to this fairly quickly, saying that they didn\'t know how this could have happened. After a week I got back a new v2.0 board, sealed bags etc. Also OcUK\'s packaging has, in my experience, generally extended to items shoved in a jiffy bag - not very robust for some delicate items. I don\'t think I\'d use them again, given the fact that they originally shipped me a used item. I just don\'t see how a decent warehouse & shipping operation could have made this mistake. And of course I had to pay to ship the used board back to them, thus detroying any saving I made on the original price.

Ordered some fans from them, no hassles, arrived promptly; what more could u ask for? Unfortunately though my other suppliers (Crucial, Scan + Overclockers) have delivered, Cpu City haven\'t (again).

I\'ve ordered a couple of times from OcUK - nothig expensive, just some DVDs and a heatsink or two. Their website is rather old fashioned and a bit difficult to navigate. The Search feature is also rather hidden, and not very easy to use. However, they delivered quickly and with no problems - though on small items the delilvery charge significantly increases the cost. A 25 DVD spindle which appeared to be priced under £5 actually costs nearly £10 including VAT and delivery. On both occasions, however, I have been very disappointed in the packaging. The DVDs were thrown in a too-large jiffy bag, which was in terrible condition by the time it arrived. The spindle was free to move through a very large space in transit, and the packaging looked about to open. When ordered the heatsink and a few other things (total cost £50 or so) - the packaging was roughly the same. A larger jiffy bag, with everything thrown in and free to move around. It would make much more sense to ues a box, and OcUK seem to be trying to spend as little money as possible. I haven\'t had any serious problems with the company, and so can\'t really comment on their customer support. However, they no longer accept emails, people report that the phone lines are very busy and understaffed, and shop-related threads are immediately deleted from the forums. I would be uncertain about making a large order from OcUK, since I\'m not confident about the packaging or what I could do if I had a problem.

The thing with these company rating tables is that people who have never had a problem will score the company quite well. Nothing wrong with that, except the fact that any monkey can take your cash and stick a box in the post. That does not really say anything about a company, appart from that they are simply forfilling thier basic obligation. What really seperates the wheat from the chaff is how the handle the situation when things go tits up. This is why I will NEVER order from OcUK again. Take the worst experience you have ever had with a PCworld salesman and times it by a 1,000, Throw in some arrogance of US govenment proportions, sprinkle some \'Group 4\' style incompetence and garnish with some K.G.B. type cover-up. I don\'t understand quite how THEM fluffing my order caused them to become so angry at me. I honestly tried to be as polite and understanding as i could. I know these things happen. Bu after being in-directly called stupid, I asked to speak to the most senior person possible. This seemed to wind them up even more and the person I spoke to talked to me like I was a retard and even swore at me several times. I just sat and listened in shock. I don\'t know how they get away with it. But if you actually fancy enduring the kind of abuse the OcUK customer services seem to enjoy serving up to it\'s paying customers, I suggest you go to a \'Roy Chubby Brown\' gig and call him a fat bastard instead. Atleast that would be funny.

Good retailer until things go wrong, bought a Leadtek A380 (FX5950 Ultra), that blew up when it was 9 months old. Physically took the item back to their premises (not impressive), they tried to fob me off with a card \'of equivalent performance\' as they had no stock of the A380 rather than the £450 item I had bought originally.....I reminded them of the 1973 Sale of Goods act, goods of merchantable quality etc etc and they suddenly \'found\' an identical replacement card. Funny that! I had always rated Overclockers and now believe the underlying business principles are fundamentally flawed - be careful.

Purchased many items from OcUK and love the efficiency with which they manage to get the items to you. Once ordered before 1pm I always received my order by the latest 8:30am the following morning.... that\'s what I like.:) Had one problem with OcUK once though when purchasing a 6800 Ultra, the model I purchased was not instock and it was a nightmare to change the order to a model that was actually available. OcUKs\' customer service is non-existent, nobody answers that phone. The only way I was able to cummunicate with them was by E-mail.

I have purchased from okUK several times and had been satisfied with delivey and prices. Reading through the comments I noticed there seems to several customers experiencing the problem of ocUK losing returned packages so thought I would relay my experience from last year. I purchased an oem cpu and some memory approx £600 and was unhappy with the condition of the cpu, it clearly had been used. I decided to return within 7 days as is my right. I requested an RMA but after 6 days had not received a reply so sent everything back registered delivery, (The RMA email eventually arrived after 10 days). I telephoned explaining what had happened and was told they would reject the return without the RMA. Of couse I never got the items back and okUK denied they had received them. I got a POD from the Post Office. OKUK told the PO they had received the item and would arrange a refund. However they told me they had not received the item and said the same to VISA whom as a result would not handle the issue and told me I needed to persue a claim through the PO. During this time okUK ignored my emails and it was almost impossible to talk to anybody. The PO were brilliant eventually resolved it by asking okUK to sign a declaration which would render them liable for fraud if the PO could prove delivey. okUK promptly found the items!. They still tried to levy a re-stocking fee and delayed the refund to my credit card. All this took several months. There is no chance of me buying from them again. I am glad I paid for special delivey with insurance up to £1000.

I\'m currently mid-first purchase from them and so far - no good. Basically last Tuesday I ordered parts to build a new system totalling £1400. Because no one is in during the day on weekdays I had to pay extra for Saturday delivery. The price doesn\'t bother me, it beats missing the delivery guy and having to trek 50 miles to pick up a whole load of computer parts and take them home in a tiny car. What did bother me was that although I ordered on Tuesday they didn\'t start packing the order till Friday which meant that a lot of stuff was out of stock. I don\'t know if this is standard practice for computer stores but it sucks either way. Thankfully only the graphics card is out of stock now so it shouldn\'t be *too much* of a hassle to change that to something that\'s in stock and the delivery to Next Day (yay for week off). Oh the site navigation is a bit sucky too, changes on certain sections of the site.

Purchased a Shuttle, only for it to go faulty within a month RMA\'d it no problem. 2 weeks later tried to get update only to be told they never recieved it and it was not their issue, I had to find POD and fax it to them. After a lot of hard work got POD, faxed it then they told me it was with them but they had no done anything with it. After angry letters to MD, and constant hassling I finally got my Shuttle back after 5 1/2 weeks fixed.

Ockuk stock levels seems to be continuously false. there items showing in stock are very often not, i can appreciate that upto the minute stock levels is hard to achieve and this continues day to day with items showing in stock when they are not. this means that you pay for next day delivery and it doesent turn up for 4 days and they don\'t bother to even tell you this. so if you take a day off work to receive your goods its been a waste of time. This has happened the last 3 times I have ordered from them. They do stock some nice items though and recently the prices have got better. Customer service is reasonable but would help if they were a little more happy :)

Used OcUK many times. Personally I\'ve never had a problem with them. Service has always been good and the goods have arrived within a few days. Prices recently have been getting better too. But... One person that I recommended OcUK to bought a whole system from them - But the mobo was DOA. After 3 weeks of sending it back, them \"not receiving\" the item, then saying that it had just been tested etc - I couldn\'t believe it. It took about 2 MONTHS for him to get a working mobo. So unless you need to RMA anything - Great place. If you ever need to RMA - I wonder if it\'s worth the hassle...

I bought several items from them, infact my first order form them was the first order I placed online. Most of the stuff was ok. My motherboard (nf7-s) worked but the box, manual, sata driver floppy was damaged. It acctuallly looked like it had been kicked and thrown around. THe manual was ripped and the floppy had a large dent through it. the box was dented in several places. However this was packaged inside another box, which was in PERFECT condition. It did not get damaged in the post - they had damaged it BEFORE they packaged it. I do not think it could have been accidental. I also made the mistake of ordering from them again, this time a zalman cooler, which one of the parts was faulty. I emailed them and after two months of no reply I sold it (the buyer knew the condition), as I thought this would be easyer and better than trying to RMA to them. Why do people still buy from them? has noone read this?... they can send some orders quickly but there customer service is non existant.

I ordered a 2500-M Barton Processor at about 4:30 on a Monday and it was here with me on Wednesday (at some point during the day). Nice and quick delivery. And the product worked as expected. I was rather worried by the packaging they\'d used. Even though it was an extremely small package (little cardboard box about 7x7x2.5cm) it had been put in a jiffy bag and there was no warning on the package as to the sensitivity of the component inside to static electricity. Still I can\'t really complain as it worked perfectly. Their site isn\'t anything special, but nice and easy to use.
