Alien Isolation has introduced two new difficulty levels through a free patch.
With the latest patch installed, users can choose to play the game on Novice and Nightmare difficulties.
Nightmare mode sends players into the game with a broken tracker with a distorted display and unreliable information.
It also further limits supplies, removes the map systems and increases survivor and alien intelligence.
Novice mode awards players with more ammunition and resources, and makes the alien easier to distract and less aggressive.
Alien Isolation is out now on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC.
The game revolves around Ripley's daughter Amanda, whose mission takes her to a remote trading station 15 years after the events of the first Alien film, as she attempts to track down the flight recorder of her mother's ship.
Sigourney Weaver and the cast of the original film have reprised their roles for the game's 'Last Survivor' and 'Crew Expendable' DLC pre-order packs.
