Why have a headset stand/cable puck on the right side, when everything visual is on the left? Why route cables through and out the back where they loop in, so many years after Corsair proved it's a naff feature? Why on EARTH is there only one top fan mount?

VR-fancy gimmicks aside, it lacks too many of the basic features I'd normally require… possibly in an effort to force modern ways into becoming the standard, rather than letting what works continue.

I'll be passing on this one…

The stand is magnetic, so it can be placed on the front or right side. https://www.nzxt.com/products/s340-elite-black

Although given that most VR headsets aren't exactly attractive, I think placing it on the right, where it won't detract from the visuals of the case and your build, makes a lot of a sense….

Ohhhhhhh yeah…… missed that.
I like it even less now - Either it'll end up scratching my case, and/or it won't bear the weight and disaster will ensue! :D

Except that the visual side will either face to the left, meaning an awkward and inconvenient reach around (fnar fnar) the case to the “convenient” puck, or it will face forward like my current build, meaning having to mess around behind the case where there is limited space until you hit wall.

This, along with all the other lacking and wanting features… nah. Some nice ideas, but some naff ones and all at the expense of others that I'd want more.

Another case (pun) of a case with its primary cooling obstructed by a solid panel with tiny gaps at 90° angles to the direction of flow.

I can't speak for this, but I like that in the Fractal R5. It helps dampen the sound of the intake fans to the point where the case fans are pretty much silent.

There's plenty of cases with an open front with little more than a fan filter for those that want exceptional cooling. I just don't think it's necessary over here any longer for even moderate overclockers (my 4790K is nice and cool even at 4.5GHz with standard air cooling in my R5).

No external bay for a CD/DVD/BD = no go.

You're not driving your computer hard enough then ;)

Haha, no, I'm sure it would go a fair bit higher, but it's plenty fast enough - 100-300MHz faster isn't going to make a blind bit of difference.

Long gone are the days where I would spend hours and hours clocking the arse off of a chip. You waste more time than you'd ever be able to save encoding videos or whatever.

I recently completed a build in this case for a friend and even with a kraken x61 installed in the front in pull config his temps are great. Lovely clean looking case imo
