Would it be too much to ask for a price cut down to £299? :P

Also, according to bloomberg, Sony are starting to make profit on each console sold.

A lot of the price-cutting appears to be to do with clearing down stock, and the introduction of the 80GB SKU, which is apparently the way they'll shift all stocks down to a single sku, which should then enable even more prifitability, and further price cuts…

£349 I'd guess given the us version is getting cut by $100..

Yep, I'd go with that guess too.

Amazing how less than a year ago they were (allegedly) making a $200 loss per console

well with the price in the UK/EU they will be making a profit over here on each console :D

Yup, and once they can get all regions onto the same SKU, they should be able to drive down production costs even further, which in turn should mean even lower costs for us plebs :)

Its already available a £400. My guess would be £325 to £350 at best.

I would think £349 to stimulate summer growth, then another in time for christmas, down to £299

Will it really make much difference until they get some AAA games out?
Posted by noTHINGface - Tue 10 Jul 2007 11:22
… I don't think that it will, well not to me anyway, though they do have some interesting titles on the way, Killzone2 springs to mind.

Get the price down to a reasonable amount, get rumble back and get the games out then the noTHINGface wallet opens.

Hmm if Killzone 2 really does look as it did in that video then PS3 sales are just gonna go up and up. I guess we'll find out this week anyway.

hardly doubt killzone 2 will look as good as it did on the pre-rendered video. just a hunch though :)

As for the price cuts - $100 in the US should translate to £25 or so, in the usual rape-them-europeans price politics..

PAL PS3's dropping by as much as 17%.. which hits the magical price of £349.99..

Stunning!
