I think it's safe to say I liked the reinterpretation better.

Shaking hands with his defeated enemies just wouldn't have made sense for Bond, especially when you knew you had killed them in the game.

It looks so dated now ! When it first came out I though it looked more realistic than sliced bread. I have to agree that having bond shaking hands with all the people he'd killed would have been weird.

Me too, I liked the realism of the shattering glass.

The license to kill is the entire point of being 007.

It looked dated to me when it came out, then again i was used to games like Unreal and Half-Life.

Can't see how, golden eye 64 came out in 1997, unreal in mid 98' and half life after that…..

Apologies i should have said it looked dated to me when i first played it as i was used to games like Unreal and Half-Life.

As in when i first got to play it round a friends house i couldn't believe it was only a year old and my friend was gushing over how great it was, that's not to say it wasn't fun, just that it look incredibly dated.

I can still remember taking a scoped sniper shot of a guard in a sentry tower - really affected me at the time - felt very real to me - had to put the game down for an hour or two.

Can anyone actually imagine how the game would have turned out if it was indeed toned down? Not only that, but consider the impact it could have had on its successors if it would have been altered. The game was truly revolutionary for the FPS industry.

I agree zen1966.

He suggested that it might be nice if, at the end of the game, you got to shake hands with all your enemies in the hospital.

He could shake their hands at the morgue, that would be more realistic and disturbing.
