Link. Perhaps useful to those who are interested in this? Seems interesting. Wouldn't mind using one just to see if there is any benefit to the back paddles.

Never mind, this expired as I posted it !

If imitation really is the sincerest form of flattery Valve can consider themselves roundly flattered.

Sony just need to produce a pro/elite gamepad now of a more solid build quality(especailly the trigger buttons) and better battery life. I, for one would buy it.

Erm.. why? That's just a fancy D-pad cover, not a track pad. This is just an improvement on their standard controller, nothing really ground-breaking going on here (other than the price). I play PC games with a 360 controller and enjoy it, for me, the steam controller is still the next step just because it will allow me to use a controller to play non-controller compatible games in my steam library.

I think the sticking point for most people will be the $150 price tag, which will be north of £120 over here.

Steam controller looks more interesting to me.

Yeah visually it looks very nice but still the asking price for it all is ridiculous. Also Xbox pads are notorious for not lasting long and the end user having to get a new pad. Well in my experience that is.

If its just your experience then its not notorious…

I have 4 xbox 360 controllers. Two from an original 20GB version and two black ones from a 250GB Xbox S version. I stopped using the older controllers when I get the newer ones but only because they looked cooler! The only noticeable points to be made are as follows:

-The white ones are grimmy. This could have been fixed by me cleaning them more regularly!
-The thumbsticks have indents in them from the way a press my thumb, and subsequently, my nail into them. But on the flipside if they were made of a harder rubber they wouldn't be nearly as comfortable.
-One of the triggers on one of the black ones squeaks a little.
-I dropped on the white ones and the battery pack cracked so it is sellotaped together. I think this is more my fault then the controllers though!

Not really a long list of faults IMO. And the majority of the time I really played my X360 I was between the ages of 11-ish and 18. Some serious gaming occurred between those ages!

The controllers I had more of a problem with were the wireless Guitar Hero controllers! Absolute rubbish! Not a single one ever last to the next game!

All except for my original white corded one from guitar hero 2! I also felt there was less latency on the controller so who-ever used it could play better. So much so it ended up gaining the nickname Jesus as when we played group games together and people kept ‘dying’ Jesus would play really well (and I would I guess) and bring everyone back to life. (I know that's not quiet how the Bible goes… bit of artistic freedom though!)

Well , I suspected it would be over £100, but $150 = £150. That's steep.

At £50 I thought that the XBox One controller was too expensive.
