Interesting question to answer, actually had to think.

Thanks for the competition, prize looks epic.
Posted by Tunnah - Wed 13 May 2015 12:13
Awesome, my rig has started acting funny in several places so let's hope I win so have a replacement for when this kicks the bucket.

On another note, is it me or is that not a great system for 2 grand?! Blimey.

Nice question, hopefully that puts off a couple of people and increases my chances…
…I can dream…

For a gaming rig I agree, they went with a more expensive platform leaving less money for the GPU. Although it is very capable in other areas too.

Fabulous prize. That looks like a really nice case too.

Build it yourself or pay someone a huge overhead to do it for you and factor in support costs as well.

Won't catch me saying no for free, I also had a friend on teamspeak last night saying his old cyberpower that I specced him is showing it's age and can I suggest a new one so I will point him here :)

It's not (unless I misread the small print) costing 2 grand though… it's a competition - It's FREEEEEEEE!!!

Damn guys, awesome as always I will keep my fingers crossed and I shall pray to the Internet Gods. Maybe sacrifice my 4GB Ram stick at their altar and this time I will get lucky. :)

Actually the answer is 20.2–2TB is 2048 GiB :)

C'mon, we're talking about HD capacity here, you know damn well it's not going to be 2048 GiB. It's probably not even 1900GiB.

Of all the years entering hexus competitions, this is the prize I want to win most. What an amazing looking pc. Something I couldn't afford myself, and my old q6600 is getting very old these days!

thanks Hexus & Cyberpower! :)

Being a binary guy (1024 MB to 1 GB) I dislike the answers available :P

No, it's 42. The answer is always 42.
It's just the question you need to figure out… ;)
Posted by Sumanji - Thu 14 May 2015 18:42
Is it bad that I had to use Excel to calculate the answer…?

:p
Posted by YenRug - Fri 15 May 2015 11:36
HDD manufacturers use “decimal” versions, so their 1GB = 1000MB, 1TB = 1000GB, and so on, in case anyone needs to figure it out.

Yes it is. You should be perfectly proficient with MS Calculator, like I was!!
Posted by snedger - Fri 15 May 2015 12:09
Yeah, I wasn't happy answering a question that uses dumbed down decimal Terabytes - winning the prize will take me a long way along the healing process :)

I ran a Crystal Ball simulation with 10,000,000 trials, to try and ascertain the most likely answer :p

finally a real question :)thx hexus for the awesome competition and really hope to win ones in my life
Posted by EndlessWaves - Sat 16 May 2015 13:20
So 2.4 x 10^12 will show up as 2235GB, the memory is DDR-2400 so it's running at 1200Mhz and the Corsair case's model number is CC-9011070-WW

I get an answer of 0.00038.

Nice choice of system though, it has good performance and all the bells and whistles that you'd never add yourself but are really nice to have on a contest prize.

Think harder.

Some commentary over the GPU being a bit “weak” due to the lions share being on the motherboard platform, but as I have an nvidia 250 gts at present, then I can most certainly live with that.
Posted by Miningshark23 - Sat 23 May 2015 16:37
Well this would be one hell of an upgrade from my a4-5000 quadcore mobile processor and iGPU, i seriously hope i win
Posted by Nipun - Tue 26 May 2015 14:55

Am I missing something?

2tb in raid 0 (no mirroring, so full 2tb) = 2000gb

2000gb + 2400mhz (ram speed) = 4400

4400 / 240 (case) = 18.33333 (repeating)

?

Maybe I'm just out of it, but I'm not seeing where I'm going wrong.

Almost perfect timing, as my ASRock z77e-itx just gave up the ghost (no vid output, pcie or igpu) out of nowhere, just as I was about to sell it in favor of a 5820 build.
Posted by ARr0w - Wed 03 Jun 2015 17:21
If i win it will be a chance to play GTA V and MAX PAYNE 3 and all the other latest games that i have not played just because i can't afford a gaming pc. I hope for a win!

A Simple Math's Question.
Posted by deadun - Fri 12 Jun 2015 13:43
Nipun
+400gb from SSD

Nice competition btw - just to add to those on the binary and unsure wavelength.
Noting that there's only a reference to ‘total storage’

2x1tb drives in Raid 0 - after format - 931.32gb (x2) = 1862.64
1 x 400gb PCIe - after format = 372.49gb
Memory in MHZ = 2400
Total = 4635.13
divided by the model number of the chassis (nod to the previous quote about the alpha numeric model number - so I've assumed it is just the three numbers) @ 240

= 19.31

So are any answers correct, will anyone win, does anyone care, do I have too much time on my hands this afternoon :)
