I didn't think the reboot was going to help OnLive any better than its previous attempt, so I'm not really surprised about the closure other than them lasting longer than I expected before doing so.
At least something positive can be gained from this, but I would have expected Valve to be the one to acquire the parts of it (to improve Steam) rather than Sony.
Interesting that the amount seems to have been kept quiet.
Never expected much from OnLive, always felt they were a victim of the market. By the time internet connections became good enough for their service to thrive, we ended up with cheap Steam machines, next-gen consoles, decent PC ports and an absolute barrage of mobile games.
