I've always considered a date's midnight to be 24:00, not 00:00, and a closing date to mean the day that something will be closing, not the first day after it's closed.
Please stop listing competitions in news letters that are already closed

I should point out that HEXUS is UK-based, so I would expect that the number of UK readers to be high and that be reflected in the number of entries (though I have no idea whether that is truly the case).
Regardless, winners are picked at random so it's not that there is any bias.
