I think this is the first I've heard of Xilence, but it can only be a good thing with be-quiet's parent company now owning them too.

Of course, now that you point it out it makes sense - somehow it didn't occur to me that way when I originally read it. Thanks for making it clearer now though. :)

if the only negative on these is the fan noise for the cost, can you replace with a silent fan from a 3rd party or would that affect the warranty?

i've been using some EVGA 430 wt budget 80 plus psu for some cheaper end system recently and they are great.
