A must-have companion for photographers?
Not for this photographer, no.

Potentially useful? Perhaps.

At current prices (£155 to £170 for 1TB), for me, no way. It's WAY overpriced for me.

I have the seagate option but the reason this peaks my interest is the fact that its wireless N, everything else that I've seen only has wireless G, that could explain the battery life here, bring a seperate usb p[owerbank and you'll be laughing. How much is the 2Tb version?

Add a mobile broadband router (mi-fi) to it and it would get even more interesting.

I can see nothing but issues with this when used with a smartphone, or anything that tries to connect to the internet over wi-fi.
Surely if you connect your wi-fi to this device, internet will not work?
Ok, it will default back to 3g/4g eventually, but with constant retries, it will be a horrible experience. Or am I missing something?

It allows passthrough, as stated on page 1. You connect to it, and it provides the connection to your router/gateway.

I have a question, I have a non wireless seagate; could I put a dongle in the USB and use it wireless? Any answer would be greatly appreciated!
