Fingers crossed. If I did win it, what is the cheapest motherboard that will officially take it?

Technically your motherboard VRMs can take upto 275W.

Need an excuse to upgrade… everything :)

Thanks, and luck to all.

Nice….but would have been even better if it included the asus rog mobo too lol. Full upgrade not just cpu speed. Mind you..my 8150 is warm enough with h80… hate to think how much heat 220w gives out over my 125w

Interesting, hadn't come across any figures. ASUS don't list 9000 series on the compatible list. Given it can overclock an 8350, that doesn't make much sense really.

OTOH, my son would live an 8350 upgrade and would need a motherboard to go with it, so I would still be in the market.

Hmm… I think I'll need the Sabertooth board to support it.

Think that box really should have a disclaimer reading *do not submerge your CPU

Would like this very much as a replacement for my 8350 which has problems staying at 4.4 lately :/.

Nice. This will be an awesome upgrade on both power and cooling performance.
Thanks Hexus and AMD!

If I win, pigs will fly & due to the extras required to make use this CPU, it looks like an Ebay jop to me! :whip:

First comp I haven't been interested in for ages.

Good processor

I hope my M5A99X EVO R2.0 can run this. It would be a nice upgrade to my Phenom II X6. (That said, the chance that the motherboard will run it is surely a lot higher than the chance that I'll win it. :)
