Lovely looking cooler, like the colour scheme, but I'll take Noctua any day of the week.

I have to say I've been extremely impressed with the DRP2 so not a surprise.
I didn't have a huge problem fitting it though by using LP RAM and mounting the mobo to the cooler outside the case upside down. Went on in seconds !

I honestly can't see how anyone is comfortable with these huge heatsinks (predominantly) dangling off the side of the board. I appreciate they come with backplates, but that only goes so far!

I do like the look of it, but looking at performance I am staying with my £28.99 Lucifer.

I think will go with liquid cooling.

One assumes that those who design heatsinks know what they are doing however when you look at the layout of the heatpipes then the cooler is only efficient if its orientation is parallel to the horizon, sitting on top of the cpu and not hanging onto it. So best used in a HTPC case where the motherboard mounts horizontal?

Aesthetically speaking, a nicely lit, colour co-ordinated heatsink can look nicer than these new closed loop liquid coolers that are the new ‘in’ thing.

There's just no way I'd risk the installation job that is required for something as top end as this though…when I go fiddling around inside my PC things tend to stop working.

You know this is wrong don't you?

It depends on the type of heat pipes used…

Indeed, all of these will work fine regardless of orientation. Theres a decent explanation here.

I should have said ‘most efficient’ and not ‘only efficient’
I realise they work however the excellent link from Goobley would suggest that being in a vertical orientation means they (heatpipes) work better.

Would have loved to see how it fared against a Noctua cooler, they're very similar in price.

I've got the large phanteks hanging off the side off my board - solid, well built cooler, asrock mobo (z68) has no issue supporting it, still cools my i5-2500K @ 4.8GHz well (idle 29-31C, load 38-45C)

Looks nice! I read installation can be a bit fiddly but never installed a bequiet cooler before. It's quite a beast tbh.

Fancy changing to one of these from my H2O 920 as i think it would be quieter under load, only concern is i use the top pci-e slot on my mobo for a sound card and i worry the fan holders would interfere with this, anybody got a DR2 and can comment as i assume they are similar?

Liquid is good but this one is silent and has good performance, the only draw-back is that its being “cooled” by the VGA.
In a case with exhaust fans for watercooler you can separate the flows of hot and cold air, they dont misc when its flowing

I do have one. Can post pics over the weekend but I doubt you'd have issue. I've installed it on z77 and z87 without a problem. Need LP ram on the z77 but I have corsair vengeance on the z87.
