If you've got a carrier that doesn't allow you to tether then you can at least have phone AND tablet on the one plan. Use the device as a phone normally, but if you want to do some web browsing, email or anything else that needs more screen “real estate” then merely dock the phone and behold - you've got it. Plus if it's the same deal as previous Padfone's then the battery in the dock will recharge your phone's battery.

So you get the phone, larger screen tablet, and extended battery all in one package. And £250 is very good if that includes all the bits - no “we'll sell you the phone for £250, but the 7” dock will cost another £150" nonsense.

That's £250 by direct conversion. It'll probably equate to £400 real price.

So to sum it up Its only good for the first time users.

Not sure which is more classy, the padfone, or the selotape tattoos.

On the flip side, why would anyone buy a separate phone and tablet rather than a device like this? It's not like people generally use both at once. So why would you want to have to keep two devices in sync? Why would you want to have to tether the internet from your phone to your tablet. It makes sense.

I agree completely. The larger variant should be 10“. And their new 6” Note phone with stylus looks amazing. If priced reasonabely and made as good as most ASUS products it's definitely on my watchlist when it comes to our market.

And they should make 8“ Note style phablet. I use speaker 90% of the time and I can hold (a thin) 8” table comfortabely in one hand for 10% of the time; Or use headphones. Make it thin, add a stylus and make it afordable and I'll buy it before my contract ends.
