well either Seagate has stipulated this , or the etailer supplying them. other competitions have been EU as well , even world wide.

These SSHDs are great, I have one already; but second one wouldn't go amiss. :D

SSHD is a great idea, especially for those who has limited space for another hard drive (be it a desktop or a laptop) without breaking the bank. :D

WD Caviar Black (or even Blue) drives are pretty good - got two of those in an eSATA RAID crate on my desk and you can't hear them most of the time. 500GB too. If you don't need huge capacity then SSD is fantastic. That said, I know a couple of folks with SSHD and they're pretty happy - not as fast as a “proper” SSD by a long chalk, but noticeably faster than a normal HDD, even a Seagate one! ;)

Well Seagate your largesse just made a small difference. Looking for a better drive for my user partition, and remembered this competition. Thought, “hmm, probably be good if Hexus are offering as a prize”, so I've just gone and bought a 1GB SSHD.

Hopefully it'll be quicker than the WD Caviar Black drive that I've got in there at the moment, which is CrystalMark benchmarking slower than an old (small cache) WD Caviar Green. Which is strange because I've had good experience with my previous Cav Blacks.

well I need one hybrid for laptop so maybe I will get lucky ;]
