Nope, I won't. I prefer Android and the choice of handset that android offers.
Missus said she will though as she only ever gets the S models after Apple has ironed out the bugs in the first model.
She finds android too fussy and wants a simple phone that just works.
No…….You can't get much quicker than that.
Android allows me to chose my handset and go with the flow, having both hardware and software at the mercy of single entity does not appeal to me.
But looking at these, they just look the same as previous models with some interesting features - Seems to me that current iphone 5 users don't need to upgrade - but should see a surge of 4s users flooding the 2nd market with their handsets when they go to 5c/5s :)
I am really pleased to see 64bit come to the mobile arena though as this could be seen as laying the foundations for the ‘next big thing’.
No, haven't changed my mind about Apple products, not worth it.
No. I got a new phone last year, and see no point of upgrading a new phone every two years, let alone every year. No company has convinced me that I *need* their newest and shiniest, and every smartphones nowadays are priced beyond of my idea of an impulse buy.
Nope, I got a S4 recently, and all my investment in apps is in Google Play.
But … I might get an iPod Nano, because I'm at my wits end about the abysmal state of syncing music between my mac and android - and I do have doubletwist and airsync and all that.
I went from 3G to 4S. I'll probably stick with Apple as I'm fairly heavily invested in the ecosystem, but really what extra functionality has emerged on any platform since?
Faster processor? Meh.
64 bit? Meh.
Better camera? Meh.
I'll probably just keep using this one until it's uneconomical to repair.
I've been cured of general upgraditis by buying an iMac. It's not possible to keep upgrading the GPU for an extra few frames/sec.
yes im still using my iphone 4 and its starting to look a bit battered
I never liked Apples phones if i'm truly honest, but this generation just seems more vulgar than the last. Especially on the ‘low end’ version, the plastic case makes it loose the only appeal it ever really had…
Nope…will stick with android
No, do i need to stand on the staircase and clap my fellow Humans, “well done you are a sheep to”, like bollacks do i.
Maybe. Never ever ever buying another Android phone ever again after the problems my S3 has.
Either Apple or Microsoft will get my custom, next time.
No. If I ever stop buying Windows Phone, it will be to buy an Ubuntu phone or something with Android. I can't think of any good reason to buy Apple, and every time I've bought Apple devices and laptops it's become a miserable disappointment within months: charging for minor OS updates, insane prices of replacement parts, and gangsterism via built-in obsolescence (seriously, making Chrome and Firefox useless unless I pay for an OS update? Get out).
Shame they didn't bother to improve the screen. Not that that would make me buy an Apple product. However, my S4 screen is lovely.

Nope.
I like Apple products, in a vacuum… however in the real world the competition is closing fast in terms of design and build quality (Hello HTC One!) and long since passed in terms of functionality.
And as for value… well, Apple never really tried to compete, did they.
Good for Apple, making money and selling products that lots of people buy.
Good for the rest of us however that want to buy the competition - it keeps everyone on their toes!
nope, my Lumia 920 is great! and i will probably never buy an Apple phone.
Will you be buying an iPhone 5C/5S?
Come again?
Nope. A few months ago I finally upgraded my old x10 mini, I have no idea how long I had that phone. Tried my brothers S3 and Sis in laws iphone 4s before getting and a lumia 820. Love my new phone. Maybe by the time my contract ends Apple may have a new design? They seem stuck in iterate rather than innovate since even before Mr jobs passed.
Oh look it has funky covers like my lumia 520… still no!
No.
Screen size is not acceptable for me.
I have an iPhone 4 and my next phone will also be an iPhone, just not the 5S. I really hope they “fix” the screen size with the iPhone 6. Apple products are still the best looking, and I want it all metal, as much as possible, and this should include the smallest buttons or covers, even that for the SIM card. No plastic please, unless there's a technical reason for it to be there.
no why buy something well over priced .. my s3 will do me another 2 yrs and at £18 a month for just another yr it ant cost much ..
600m unlt text 500data …
I have had an IPhone 3G and 4s just sold my 4 and bought a Samsung Note 2 which I got for a very good price and was presently surprised by how nice the software is to use and just how nice the phone is in general after hearing nothing but negative remarks from friends and work colleagues. The best part is that I can now take phone calls from my house! so, plastic can be an advantage sometimes.
Apple had it right with the 3Gs, however, ever since the device has moved away from its ergonomic beginnings:
iPhone 4 - Uncomfortable shape/material, poor signal and vs 3GS comparative loss of performance due to pushing retina pixels.
iPhone 5 - Caving to popular demand, adapted widescreen, despite it further damaging ergonomics on a case and OS not designed for widescreen, directly in contradiction to Steve Job's principals over the roll of widescreen in iPhone (he said following much research it was found not to be ergonomic). On a side note, non-standard resolution meant no 1:1 pixel scaling of many videos and as new features were being added, the OS hadn't been updated to cope, resulting in ever increasing drill-downs etc, further reducing usability.
iPhone 5s - Nothing new, iOS 7 may help to resolve some of the flaws of expanding functionality, through fast access menus etc, however feels more like an Android Patch/Bolt-on than a redesign that looks to improve usability from the core.
The iPhone 3Gs had me coloured impressed, but ever since I've felt the device lost its ‘special something’ and gave way to Android alternatives.
So no, no iPhone 5s for me.
Yes - more than likely I'll be getting one, wife too. There's nothing ‘wrong’ with the 4S that we both have at the moment, but that said the update to the camera is a big plus for the wife. We have a fair bit of Apple ‘ecosystem’ at home and so it's an obvious choice for us to be honest. We always miss a generation and buy the updated S version rather than the initial offering too, tend to find it's more reliable that way, plus you have a better idea of what's to come.
No! …I am a conscientious objector to Apple technology. It's not that I am adverse to innovation, or competition, I just don't agree with the way Apple do things…for instance, I bought a charger for my iPod, however it wouldn't work with my mate's iPod as his was a previous generation…
At £709 for the 5S in the Apple store … not for me.
dunno who said it first, but… AW, HELL NO !

Yes….well….actually….No!
TBH,I am seeing less and less of a reason for spending silly amounts of money, ever since the release of the Nexus4 and a number of Chinese efforts, which prove you can have a decent smartphone for well under £300. The rest of it is just tarting up the case, and plonking in a better camera. Even with the latter the price difference is enough to buy a decent compact anyway.
no.
great SoC, but no desire to be sucked into the vortex.
Exchange actual money for something “invented” by Apple? Ha! I'd rather receive a kick in the balls, personally :P
No. I wouldn't buy one, but if someone gave me one I would use it. Or at least try.
Once my Galaxy S3 bites the dust I'm more likely to look Sony's way than Apple, they really seem to be on song at this time. And I only use free apps so I'm not all that locked into Android.
Definitely not! When my current S3 contract expires, I want something bigger. A phablet. I'll probably go with whatever the latest iteration of the Galaxy Note they're on at the time.
My other half wants a 5S to replace her 4S, then saw the luducruous prices wanted for the contracts….. and still wanted one.
I, on the other hand, have hid her debit card so she can't :p
Dunno! Contract is up soon and been with apple since the 3G. Currently on the 4S, was disappointed in the 5 and the 5S is not much better.
I don't understand why everything is going mental on the screen size. I want to be able to carry my phone around in my pocket and hold it up to my ear with one hand!
Would really love the Ubuntu phone to come out and I'm interested to see what Google brings out next.
Will proberly stick with 4S and go onto a sim-only plan, see what next year brings!
Yes. I already have.
Not for me, though. My girlfriend is tired of waiting for Androids to “do stuff”. I have to admit, most application developers spend more time developing for Apple. I like Android, personally - but the ones I've had so far could have been a bit faster.
I hate Apple as a company, but the iPhone is better. :(
Another no from me. But I won't buy any other phone either. My galaxy whatever still does everything what I need it to do.
No but only because I'll pick up a cheap 5. Unless Android phones improve their UI I'll never get one.
Really feeling the Apple love in this forum! lol
I have a 4S. Its a tempting upgrade (5S not the awful looking 5C!), but I'd need the 32GB which is £629 offline. Its an awful lot of cash. OK I would probably sell the 4S and get some nice Apple resell value so that brings the price down a bit.
Galaxy s4 here will do everything I want it to do
Nope - Too much invested in in Android plus I won't own anything with a close ecosystem. Installing what I want when I want (and from who I want) is a must!
I got a Windows Phone this year, so I won't be getting an iPhone 5S or C. To be honest, the C might boost Nokia and HTC windows phone sales by going the colourful route and being about £200-£300 more. It's good to see 64 bit come to the mobile market though.
AlexKitch
Maybe. Never ever ever buying another Android phone ever again after the problems my S3 has.
Either Apple or Microsoft will get my custom, next time.
That's like saying “not ever buying Windows PC again because of Dell's crapware pre-installed” or “not buying another internal combustion engine powered car again after that Skoda debacle”. Android is open to a lot of modifications that are not always good, your argument is only valid for locked down OS like iOS or WinPhone. Don't buy another *Samsung* - try a Nexus…
I personally will not be buying any iTat, phones included. There is nothing compelling about them for me, overpriced, tiny screens, awful restrictive OS, irritating company ethos, iTunes, etc etc
Fingerprint readers will show up on other platforms soon if consumers take to it, 64 bit is not secret sauce (it's ARM's hard work anyway), completely unnecessary in phones until 4GB RAM is a reality and all the ARM manufacturers will be doing inside a year, colourful cases are just a massive no for me and I suspect most males and people over 25. There is absolutely nothing innovative about Apple, all they do is take things that have been around for a long time and add the extra 10% of optimisation to get it into a small enough phone chassis first, it's stuff anyone with the same R&D budget could do if they wanted to. As usual though it's marketed as way more than it actually is…

Lol. Personally I would question the judgement of anyone that could justify paying for one of the 5s contracts.
No, I personally prefer to go with Android more than apple. My next phone I want will be the Sony Xperia Z or Z1
Nope. Next phone I'm gonna get will be Android-powered.
Yes I might just buy another Apple phone, just because of the insanely intuitive usablility. And the re-sell value of those phones, just check out ebay for a iPhone 4s and a Samsung S2 which were released around the same time, everybody loves more money!
It is entertaining reading the replys from the members of the iHaters, which I admit i was a member of for the last couple of years. But life is too short to commit yourself to one Phone OS, without sampling for yourself, ive tried all now iOS/Andriod/WP8.
My biggest bug bare is the play store, badly designed/organised, apps badly/not vetted, any joe can make an app which is good if your a techy, but if your not it is a disaster waiting to happen. To this day I have never spent a penny on the play store, because i simply don't trust it with my details, although I have bought things from the apples app store.
It would be interesting to see out of all the ihaters, who has actually had a iPhone and used it for the full term of a mobile contract?

Probably not many, if you don't like something chances are you won't buy one or will replace it sooner.
I've not owned an iPhone but the mrs has an iPad and I've had to handle many iPhones at work for support purposes, everytime I do I find myself frustrated and happy to hand it back. They honestly have nothing that appeals to me and so much to wind me up and irritate, I'd rather have a Windows Phone if I couldn't have a Nexus anymore. I'd probably rather try a BB Z10 and my past experience the BB is hardly positive. Android is far from perfect, but it wins out by not making me want to go postal in the Google offices.
It's a shame to see Apple being so excruciatingly dull, they have an opportunity (i.e the bank balance) to heavily invest in brains and R&D, launch multiple models in different screen sizes, come up with genuinely useful new features, materials and technology but instead their ‘new’ ideas are fingerprint readers (which were yawn inducing on laptops) and colourful plastic cases (which Nokia already recycled from their own 1990s idea). iOS7 looks like just a reskin, I haven't seen much genuinely useful software improvements or new ideas being discussed. The lack of ambition and iterative boredom is reminiscent of the former king of Smartphones… Nokia.

Erm king of smart phone…. no…. king of simple phone and text mobiles then yes.
If you haven't used an iPhone as your primary phone, then your opinion is just exactly that…. your opinion.
Opinions are like a*$eholes, everybodys got one.
You wouldn't take the advise of someone about a car, if that someone had sat in the drivers seat and fiddled with the radio and electric windows but didn't actually take it for a drive?

Not the best comparison however, as you can get free test drives, but would have to sign up to a contract if you wanted to try out the iPhone. Admittedly you could probably cancel within a certain timeframe if you didn't like it, but it would be a lot of hassle, and personally I see them as too expensive anyway (as with any phone that is £4-500+ and subject to 24-month contracts).
realstock

Yeah you would, just not about how the car feels to drive. They are perfectly capable of giving feedback about the quality of the seats, finishings and other bits in the car as well as giving you a less biased opinion about the user friendliness of buttons controlling the various gadgets on offer than a salesman would provide. So if a person has played with an iPhone they have plenty of useful information for you to use, just because they haven't used it for an extended period of time doesn't mean what they have experienced is of no importance.

Surely that is still the case if you have used one as your primary phone too? Everyone has their own preferences and opinions.
Yes that is true. Although the opinions of a idevice user against a non idevice user is more useful to anyone undecided on whether to go for idevice or another. I wouldn't expect anyone here to take the opinion of a ifan about andriod, because he would probably do exactly what is going on here, slam the device/OS without fully knowing the product.

The advise from someone who has used the product briefly to setup email, then test (etc), is of significantly less value than someone who uses the product day in day out.
Will I be buying one? Was Gordon Brown a success as PM?
In short, hell no. I'm not paying that for ANY phone, and certainly not for iPhone.

Pretty much this. At best I may be tempted to snag an SGS4 somewhere around the £400 mark, but I'll see what the market is like. I still have a working phone and I have other more important things on the do-want list.
