I like the size.

Too big for a mini, but hey. Lack of NFC on non-LTE models is disappointing - and a minor point against rivals I expect. Bet they won't bring the LTE model here :p

Kal, 5 is the new 4.6 and 4.6 is the new 4.5 and 4.3 is just well, mini. :p

Is LTE that good?

Yeah but my hands and pockets stopped growing some time ago..

Any info on screen res?

LTE is rubbish over here, as exclusive to EE at the moment, but I am interested in NFC.

It is not a 720p screen so good for battery life, bad for gloating down the pub.

Hexus
Screen: 4.3” qHD 16:9 Super AMOLED display

qHD = 540x960

So that will be a ‘better luck next time’ from me.

Purely depends on the price for me. If they launch it as a mid-budget phone, it looks like a decent handset.

They launched the s3 mini for around £300. Im presuming they will do the same for this one if not abit more expensive. I was considering getting the s3 mini but might just wait for the reviews on this before I decide.

As said the biggest difference for me with the Mini's is the screen quality…

Samsung are going to clean sweep the place with this.

Not LTE- nor is nexus 4 but it is doing good numbers.

The nexus 4 is a in a completely different (better) class than this. Quad core, NFC, high-res display… And the S4 mini might even be more expensive than a Nexus 4 :o

I've just ordered a Nexus 4 actually. This was the final decider after comparing them. The N4 is just too good value for money to pass up.

Yep
bad for gloating down the pub.
Indeed. But I don't care about that.
However 960x540 on a 4.3“ screen isn't enough for me.
Having been dissapointed with the GSIII's AMOLED 720p screen at whatever size it is, and using the Missus' phone which is 4.3” 950x540 I see value in 720p at this size.
Not enough to tempt me off my SIM only contract and my HTC Desire S with an equally low pitch display.

What was the resolution on the s2.. is this better than that?

I used to use an s2 and for me the resolution was fine on Gingerbread 2.3.

I'd be pissed if I was on stock software and see this phone come out with JB on it and my S3 still being left out in the cold. Its like they employ two programmers only for their entire Android division. how much price Samsung I9190 Galaxy S4 mini

You haven't got JB on your S3? My wife got that ages ago. I would suggest the delay is with your provider here, not Samsung…

Jellybean is available in 4.1 and 4.2 flavours. It's the touchwiz that is holding back 4.2 though custom roms are out there

i don't understand why they spend so much time advertising large screens then release a mini version.
Posted by 3dcandy - Mon 10 Jun 2013 19:36
to cater for as many people as possible? I'd have thought that was pretty obvious…
