I think the fact that ARM is licensed tech, and it moves so quickly that people are less likely to even care what SoC is in their phone. So I guess they'll have a hard time convincing people of their worth over Exynos Tegra 3/4/5 or whatever

I'd much prefer a branded ARM SoC in my phone/tablet/notebook-thing than something unbranded -for the simple reason it's much easier to gauge performance.
