You sure it's 350/1000 ? Sounds at least 50MHz too low on the GPU clock.

Hence the extreme version I suppose. Sounds like there will be a decent bit of scope for extra MHz on it.

Nice to see they are still pleasing the AGP market I spose, although I will be going PCI-e next year… My rig runs very well considering it is AGP :D

Well, I'm still running an nForce 2 XP 2800 system here and could use a good AGP card. Or I could save a little more and upgrade the lot..

Wonder how good an overclocker the AGP version is?

My brother has the PCIe XXX version, we've had it running at 525Mhz, but he has a crappy PSU and “it cannae take tha strain” so he has left it at 485Mhz.

I can't see any reason it won't clock as fast as a PCI-E, or even XFX's own XXX Edition. Its the same GPU after all :)

depends if it uses a bridging chip or if it's natively AGP, as those get hot and could effect performance - drawing extra power, increasing temps etc. It's possible… but I haven't heard of anyone complaining that the AGP doesn't clock as well as the PCI-E on any cards.

I'm really glad about this, as i built a machine for my brother using some older components about a month ago (including a Geforce 4 ti 4200 that still works well) and chose to buy a new AGP motherboard for him as it was all on a strict budget. I'm quite glad that new AGP cards are still coming out, as for him it's the most obvious component to upgrade when the time comes, but most places are charging approx £30 for AGP over the PCI-E brother which grates a little.

Think a second hand 6800GT would be better, can be had for 100-130 notes

I don't think it is the same chip. I think the PCIe version is based on the NV41 chip and the AGP is the NV40. I read an article somewhere about the AGP version of the GS as just being the 6800GT but with 12 pipes instead of 16, which would explain the rather familiar looking core clockspeed ;)
