What's it's specification? At the end of the day, many of us might sneer or criticise retail outlet computers but if it does all you want to do and in an agreeable manner - doesn't matter what others think.
Sight unseen, I will guess that the specification will look good in, an advert, to people who are not familair with PC hardware and components. It will promote as “features” things most of us would not consider so; it will use “superfast”, “powerful” and other optimistic appelations to components which would not strike a knowledgeable PC user as entirely accurate.
Other than that, some components will be very good, some will be average and they probably won't all match each other in terms of respective performance.

Dixons! Bah…….worked there for 2 and a half years. I won't go anywhere near one of their stores now.
yeah, lol. It seemed like a good deal at the time, and I hadnt looked at the price of componants for over a year. It was the last one, so I grabbed it on a spur of the moment. Im quite pleased with it, seems to be an alright system… i know what u mean about dixons though.
They didn't convince you to buy “Coverplan”did they?
Good, the amount of people that have been conned into getting it…. Well done for saying NO!
What does it cost these days to build something of that sorta spec?
Probably more than you paid. Without going onto websites and adding it up I'm not totally sure mate.
yeah thats what i thought… so I guess i did right to buy it when i did. I was planning on buying a nice system sometime soon anyway. Is somethin like that considered a good computer on these forums?
Yeah I would say so. Mind you knowing Medion the case is probably fugly, that would be the first thing I'd ditch.
its not the nicest looking, but its alright… its growing on me
medion are one of the dixons group's own brands that they pull out every now and again when they want to sell a pc for a short time at a loss to get people into the store.
Yeah i noticed that they seem to come and go…
Oh, actually that doesn't look bad at all mate.
i quite like it… ive seen some damn ugly ones about
That don't look too bad at all. Nothing stopping you from getting the modding tools on it to make a bit of individualism shine.
Funnily enough i had a Medion web/digi/video camera as a prezzy last year and it's done really well considering the hammering i've given it.
It seems to be good kit, although I hadnt seem much of it before i actually brought it… I just saw the price, looked at the spec, and considered it to be a good deal… and so brought the last one before they had all sold out. Id buy another medion product i think
Check the mobo and RAM : more than likly to be unbranded.
A friend had one, and it did nothing but fail :\
btw, is that Dave ?

Strange Aldi's sell the Median at certain times of year, so i dont think it's a dixons owned company.
Good buy there Frost, for a Dixons\Currys\PC world PC you could have done much worse and also made the mistake of getting coverplan.
yeah, i noticed Aldi sell them from time to time
yep, a friend got an ‘aldi’ median pc a while ago. the opnly problems he (read I there) had with it was the median branded ati display card. was recognised as a ‘median 9x00 whatever’ so no catalyst drivers or anything would work, just the ones from the median website.
pain in the…
luckily he was saved by some chap on the rage3d forums having a step by step walk through for amending the driver inf files to pick up and install correctly as a good few other people were having the same problem
Nox
