So what exact platforms are you referring too in this ?

Edit : ok I see it might be xbox 360 from the top of the screen but doesn't state that in the column. Also lets not forget that the PC version…. Amazon @ £29.91 for the limited edition.

Everyone that's mentioned BF3 to me has said I'd be pretty stupid to get the XBox version if I've got a “reasonable” PC (which I have!). In fact the guy in my local Gamestation was suggesting that this'd be the game to have for the autumn - ignore Forza4, Assassin's Creed, and especially MW3. So if the article could be updated with PC versions too then that'd be superb.

Brewster101  that's a pretty darn good price for a “limited” edition. Now really tempted, especially as I'm currently on an Amazon Prime free trial. :D

Every pre-order is the “limited” edition. It's not very limited at all.

The Amazon preorder comes with the Specact Kit, which is something like £4 if bought separately, so it's a pretty good deal. I THINK it can be had from Asda for about £2 cheaper with a discount code, but you don't get the Specact kit.

Yeah something to look out here for is the add-ons you get. Game for example gives you the Physical warfare pack, other retailers are Limited Editions…etc

Wait for a month and it will come down to the magic figure of £15!

Would love to buy BF3, but, refuse to do so until it appears on Steam. Living in London now, I really appreciate Steam as a way to access my collection of games without needing some 200 DVDs next to me.

Pity, as it looks like a great game :(

Last time I checked it was £10 more expensive on Origin, I also didn't like the whole web interface either

the guy that told you that must have been high than, especialy about MW3. al the games he mentioned are for differnt type of gamers, and when it comes to me, i'm looking for something i can play quick and stop playing constantly, but obviously after finishing actual session (in COD it is max about 10 minutes for each session but most off the time it takes less than 5) where BF3 will not let me finish the game as some modes are loooooooooonnnnnnnnng, and all this planes and tanks, and huge maps where you need to run for 5 minutes to get to your enemy. i will be getting MW3 for these reasons and i might get assasins creed for the story mode, but won't get BF3 due to ORIGIN and i won't be able to play all game modes so won't be enjoying game in full

don't get me wrong, i know that BF will be amazing game but COD has huge ammount of fans, much bigger than BF, but both games are different type of fun

Agree with some of what you're saying - certainly CoD has/had the reputation of being a lot easier to just “do a quick 10 minutes with” than the BF series. However, I'm also told (by folks who claimed to have played the MP betas) that all that tedious marathon running that was in the earlier versions has been removed - certainly for the MP, although maybe you'll still have to get your track shoes on for the SP campaign? ;)

I've already got Forza4 (it's not bad) and AC:R and MW3 are already on pre-order. I count myself as a major league CoD fanboy (I've kept up with the series, and I still fire up CoD2 for a quick shoot on occasion), so unless it was totally crap then it was inevitable that MW3 would be in my collection. That said, I've not gone out and bought on both PC and XBox since the original MW - don't have the time nor budget to do that.

Oh, and given the good rep that BF3 seems to have here (and elsewhere to an extent) I slotted in a quick Amazon pre-order yesterday afternoon for the PC. I'm on an Amazon Prime trial, so not only do I get the pre-order bonus, but it's also supposed to be with me today, (free next day delivery!). The last game I bought (if you exclude puzzle ones like HIB) was CoD:W@W, so you can tell I'm not a big PC gamer (too much messing around with PunkBuster installs, DirectX installs, reconfiguring AV etc for my liking).

Err, you were misinformed then! Still a ton of running in BF3. Especially on certain maps and with certain players who zoom off instantly in 3+ seater vehicles….with only 1 person in them.

Instead of actually making the game a faster pace like COD, they decided to just make the beta the smallest map they had to give the impression they were moving in a COD-esque direction….Once you play the full game though you will see it's just like the previous ones.

Which is good, because no one wanted another CoD anyway.

DICE made it quite clear from the beginning that they were going after the COD playerbase….instead of making the game appeal to COD players they decided to play a trick with the beta instead.

Pretty under-handed IMO and it will bite them when COD completely destroys them on sales again…..

There is a reason the COD franchise sells so well…..and there is plenty of middle-ground between current BF and COD to make a game that appeals to a lot of people on both sides.

Darn  Although I suppose if you are playing as Bersaglieri (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bersaglieri) then all that track-n-field makes sense. Thought US troops went everywhere in Humvee's or Bradley's.

Good news from Amazon over the weekend - apparently the price of my BF3-PC pre-order fell, so I got a 20p rebate!
