Jay
but I don't know anyone with a 3D TV

Same ……

And cant see people changing for some time, the window has been and gone imo .. prices on LCD's dropped to a decent level to the point where most poeple opted to go an get one … so forking out for another TV for about a grand isnt on the list of priorites at present .. maybe when my TV goes i will consider it, but these things are decent nowadays so i wouldnt expect it to be any time soon …

i don't see the point in these all day rental thingimabobs, especially for a film like street dance - it's not like multiple generations are gonna watch it at different times..hell i doubt a single generation will get through a single viewing :P

It could be argued though that people in our situation (new house, have Sky+HD, might get a new tv) will be swayed though….
Have seen offers where a Samsung 3D tv + 3D Blu-Ray player is £999. Almost into affordable status as going to cinema for a family is extremely expensive these days

Has anyone actually looked into the effects of long term use of 3d technology on your eyes or health generally.

Some people get bad headaches from 3d movies at the cinema so don't watch 3D now.

I feel the long term effects for some will be bad…but most people will only watch 3D for short periods of time, or only movies…

News today that all 6 Star Wars films, beginning with episode 1, will be converted to 3D. Release date is expected to be 2012!
