One way to make sure you get some more users than Kin!

That's a pretty good idea. I salute microsoft.

PLus, it might flood the ebay market as MS employees with Android phones flog theirs.

Use the £15 million this move would probably cost to provide cheaper windows phones to the consumer :/

Agreed. Wow, less than 2p.

This is cheap advertising for MS.

True :P - my Desire is on contract and I wont be upgrading anytime soon, however I was thinking give something like £50 off for the first 300,000 purchases or something. That could encourage more sales, :/

Mind you if I was a microsoft worker I would so not be saying this :P

And it is a good yet expensive advertisement scheme.

You gotta feel sorry for them lot! :P

Word-of-mouth advertising spread by Microsoft employees… it's hardly the same as word-of-mouth advertising spread by the general populace.

Ack. It's called testing - why is this so surprising? Google + Apple did the same thing.

I actually think this thing looks interesting - it would be nice to get some competition for Apple from someone other than google.

I just hope they dont cock it up as per the usual.

The fact is, if the product is good, it will sell. No number of free phones to employees will alter this.

It;s not even news tbh, FTEs have gotten them for years as part of their remuneration

Does anyone know any Microsoft employees?

Don't think I do.

If the windows phone sells out, it could be a chance for some money making, if these phones are initially in excess.

I considered ordering a number of kinect devices on preorder - but im beginning to think kinect wont be as big as MS hope.

Plenty…..

Mainly because I worked there for over a year :)

Given your location you are unlikely to, seeing as it's only really Reading/London and a little bit in Edinburgh but that is it for the UK IIRC

Their employees will stick with their iPhones, IMHO

I dunno, for the non technical people… probably

For the techies I think they will take it, but there is only a small amount of tech staff in the UK

They'll take it… but expect plenty of them on eBay.

They won't be on eBay, they are tracked (through various means) and it's a company phone, not a personal one

Unless you fancy losing your job for gross misconduct I wouldn't sell mine if I was given one :)
