After living in York for about 2 years of my life I'm left wondering how they managed to get a car down there. If I remember correctly, there's things to stop cars at either end, and it probably isn't wide enough either.

It's not a rounding error, it's truncation :)

i.e. trunc 4.9 = trunc 4.1 etc (dependant on the level of truncation obv)

Looking at the street view they must've shot that at some ludicrously early hour of the day because most of us York residents avoid the Shambles due to it being completely mobbed end to end by tourists.

Yep. I've got a great picture of it early sunday morning though :)
