Hang on a sec, wasn't the original complaint that the COA stickers were deteriorating to the point where they could not be read?
If the Indie is in a situation with a deteriorated COA and a dead HDD ( Something I suspect is the common scenario ) they cannot retrieve the Serial with the magic jelly bean so it doesn't matter how many telephone numbers Microsoft have without that information are MS really going to issue a new COA?
What the indies are complaining about still hasn't been adressed and if I were in their position I think I'd be a tad upset too.
Right okay lost my COA sticker silly I know but it happens. Tried activating using the key I found in the I386 folder on the cd, no joy so tried a few other things and it's just not happening. Tried the activation telephone line no joy so today used the telephone number given in the information above. Is it me or is it the same computer voice for the Microsoft Activation Line that says at the end of the call as you have no COA sticker you will need to go back to your supplier? I think before representatives of Microsoft give out telephone numbers they should have them beta tested too because they obviously went wrong somewhere. home user.
edit - actually, ignore me…
I've been repairing computers for years and was never aware of such a facility.
