Depending on the price, it might persuade me to actually buy a copy of Windows Vista!

Then again I'm using 7 RC anyway, so it wouldn't be much of a gain to me…

Good idea, I'm interested.

It won't persuade me, unless it were to look like a cheap way of going Win7, and that I rather doubt. I'd either use the Win7 RC, or just stick with XP and wait for full retail release. Personally, I've never been convinced I needed Vista, and I certainly don't see the need now.

Since installing Sp2 for Vista I've stopped using my Win7RC on my laptop - Its been as fast and no crashes (Win7 bluescreened shutting down). I'll be sticking with Vista for a while yet

It's a gamble - will buying Vista now be cheaper than W7 at launch? My hunch is that it will be, and therefore buying this pack is a winner for those going for W7. But there's that niggling feeling that W7 might be cheaper….

sounds nice. and i may duelboot my system with vista and windows7.

Sp2 for vista as some one said has fixed alot of little bugs foralot of programs
but may use win7 for playing pc games, as win7 os seems to sute them better then vista

I find it annoying tbh, I have 3 copys of vista and them releasing a new copy just for upgrading means that alot of people have spent money and cant upgrade cheaply, seems like MS just trying to shift more copys of vista before win 7 comes out

When they did this with xp/vista many people had problems as it was intended for OEM's, not home users. If history repeats - i'll steer clear!!

It's more about not putting a massive slowdown on PC sales. If everyone thinks “If I buy my new PC now, in four months time the OS will be out of date, but if I wait four months ….” then PC sales (and therefore Vista OEM sales) grind to a halt for four months. And MS's OEM customers won't be happy if the don't sell any hardware for four months because MS announced the date a new version of the OS would ship. They pretty much had to do an offer something like this.

well xp is 8 years old.
one of my clients is using windows ME! lmao
imj tempted to get windows 7 if only for the extra speed. at least file copying works at a decent speed on win7. on vista it starts off at a decent speed and after two seconds gets slower and slower… even with SP2.
