So there is no supply of cards, this would mean a massive drop in share price and a warning to investors then yes? Unless the cards are being sold elsewhere…

Net and gross margins will definitely not go up with gaming making up so much of their revnue. Poor Nvidia. Soon they will have to ask for donations! :(

Just wasting our time with a vapour launch. Put a note in diary to look again mid April, but not holding my breath as probably still overpriced with resellers price gouging. Maybe by then AMD will have some Ryzen 56xx in stock.

In it's first month steam shows 0.23% of users have a 3080, that might not sound a lot but it's about the same as the 5700 (non XT) has reached since launch (0.25%). Hence fair to say they are selling a decent number of cards, it's just super popular.

So not so much overwhelming demand as Jensen said two weeks ago but more a lack of supply (understandable in the current global situation).

But the PR speak is them being totally honest…. it is overwhelming demand (for such a small number of items available) causing the issue, they just forget to say the part in brackets :P

I help manage a very popular Discord server (mainly UK & EU based) for stock tracking RTX 30 series, AMD Ryzen, Radeon 6000 and PS5/XBX alerts etc. The owner has setup a bot he updates weekly with new retailers, SKUs etc and does a great job.

We currently have over 3000 people now and many have been able to get cards/CPUs etc now. nWe've had it going since a few days after the RTX 30 series launch and it picked up hugely in the coming weeks since launch.

The invite link if interested is https://discord.gg/mJ3qtCk - we also have a Twitter feed duplicating the Discord bot @ https://twitter.com/CtrlAltStock

There are RTX 3900's available now (at eye-watering prices) and sporadic AIB partner cards in the lower tiers. (at similar eye-popping prices) But zero FE cards to be had at MRSP. Twas always going to be thus. Nvidia made a couple of thousand available as a loss-leader then effectively stopped production. They make plenty from the AIB partners.

Ha, I see you have a future in marketing LSG501. ;)

For US/EU folk searching for GPU or Zen 3 stock, you could try the Stock Drops community:

For US only folks, PNY has a waiting list and it moves fairly fast. It is not advertised for some reason, but it is fully official as far as I can tell. Typical wait is less than a week to get order taken, 2 days to process, 2 days shipping and in hand. PNY does not ask for credit card info to get onto the list. Your first and last name, contact phone number, email address, and model seeking are the info Lisette at PNY needs. When your name comes up on the list, she calls your contact phone number and will try to email you. She takes your order directly over the phone.

All prices at PNY are MSRP plus tax, 2 business day shipping is free. I can get people on the list, or you can do it yourself. PM me for info. I am not employed by or connected to PNY except as a satisfied customer who managed to get in on a good deal. One card per person, no gouged prices, no scalpers. Perfect reference card.

Oh yeah, heads up, Tom's Hardware is sheltering scalpers on it's forums. If you interfere in scalper's sales, they will ban you in a heartbeat. I told people about the waiting list there and people were jumping on it, but the admins didn't like it and deleted all reference. I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this, though, I'm honestly not sure what rules mentioning an OFFICIAL waiting list with an ACTUAL MANUFACTURER would be breaking. I'm not selling a damned thing, and I sure as hell am not making anything off of this. I'm just pointing people in the right direction.

Beware of Tom's Hardware forums. Scalpers are allowed to run rampant there.

… we believe though that demand will probably exceed supply in Q4 for overall gaming." That phrase ‘overall gaming’ sounds rather vague, but might give some hope to those waiting patiently for a chance to buy an RTX 30 graphics card of some flavour or other.

I think Mark is missing the crucial words in that quote… he sees “overall gaming” and feels positive about a chance to buy a card in 4Q, but all I'm seeing is “demand will probably exceed supply in Q4”.

I stopped caring and spent the GPU money I had saved up on some fancy outdoor clothing instead. Far more productive at this point in time!

it doesn't help that people are nicking the cards before they get to retail either: $330,000 worth of RTX 3090 GPUs have been stolen from an MSI factory

Another log for the fire… As well as the various water and materials shortages, Digitimes is reporting “Nvidia GPU in short supply due to unsatisfactory yield at Samsung, sources say”.
