A huge improvement on previous reference designs!

No custom power connector, madness!

Looks like cheap CGI to me. Who wants a cartoon in their machine? FFS AMD…. (kidding)

Interesting to see they are keeping USB-C for virtual link. I thought they announced last week the standard was being dropped due to lack of uptake?

Im not sure it is actually virtual link, i think it is just a usb-c for video without the other stuff like power delivery that virtual link also included and nvidia blamed for increasing the power requirement on the 20xx series.

Nvidia dropped the USB port on their GPUs, but AMD hasn't had one before

Maybe it's not Virtual Link but rather standard DisplayPort over USB-C? Meaning AMD might be pushing for USB-C monitors now…

Yep. That looks like a graphics card.

3080 performance at 250W please, you can take all of my money now

Below you can see a couple of detail stills from a Fortnite run
Is that a subtle hint that graphics cards are going to be Epic Store exclusives too, now? :p

They considered partnering with EA but didn't fancy customers paying £800 to see what was in the box, only to find it was a 4650 refurb in 90% of cases ;)

This reminds me of the fortnite boss saying Fortnite wont be used primarily for advertising…

Completely agree, but…

I mean, that side profile, how hard was it for them to remove the word “Titan” and replace it with “Radeon”?

Also they dont want Apple taking 30% of the card and it only turning up with 2 fans and two thirds of the VRAM

No need for 2 new power connectors… no idea why NVIDIA did that stunt, but it is unlikely that the PSU manufactureres would cater solely for nvidia those ways anyway, so would need a converter plug anyway.

I might be wrong. Several other places have reported that the USB-C port is VirtualLink. Would be typical for AMD to finally get round to adopting a standard that is declared dead before the card is released.

Also on the fortnight render of the card there are 2 connectors on the front side of the card that I havent seen anyone mention what they might be for (and I'm not talking about the 8 pin power connectors).

At first i thought they were fans connectors or RGB connectors but they dont seem to match the connectors for those types of things.

Just took a look myself. They are pretty hidden under the shroud. I would imagine they are either fan connectors (they are often custom for GPUs) or internal LED connections. I just don't think we can read more into it.

The USB2 header looking ones? I'm stumped as well, hopefully they get mentioned in the announcement announcement

Those would only need 3 or 4 pins, and are generally better hidden. Nvidia has messed around with a 14 pin one on FE cards, but on AIB models they're a half scale version of the normal 4 pin one (0.05“ pitch rather than 0.1”) as a rule. It wouldn't be too surprising for AMD to develop a custom one for reference cards a la nvidia, but they wouldn't need two connectors or such big ones. These are sited for the user to be able to plug something in to them during installation

The white connectors in this screenshot?

Look like some kind of fan header to me - they're not accessible once the card is installed.

have AMD gone back to prioritising graphic sprites or something? What's with all these puns? It's such a bad hobbit to get into.

This will be very interesting but i'll still be going for Nvidia RTX 3080 to go with the Gsync monitor

The LTT video shows 8 pins in each:
https://youtu.be/S4zyEhIHitU?t=365

Unless AMD is also releasing some 8-pin fans to go with this then there's nothing you can plug into them

8 pins, might just be diag stuff for the test boards?
