“Iiyama says that its choice of 1500R curvature 34-inch panel was done to match the curvature of the human eye. ”

In that case i have terrible small eyes, mine are like R10 - 15 mm i assume.

I assume the mean “match the FOV of the human eye at a average viewing distance”.

Seems a bit of a bargain for the specs - no HDR but then for under £500, you don't really expect it. Nice to see more UW options out there :)

Every one mentions va panels are dog poo for gaming. The spec sheet looks good and the price is right but I think I will go with their ultrawide ips flat screen after they sort out the QC issues the first batch had.

It used to be a big issue in that VA panels were generally a smeary mess. Tended to be very slow screens with amazing contrast levels and colours, but the smearing and response times made them pretty much unusable for gaming.

Fast forward today and those issues have been mitigated (or pretty much solved) to the point it's simply not an issue.

Personally I would be happy with either a really good IPS panel or a good VA panel - but prefer VA for gaming. The only ones to avoid like the plague are TN panels as they are universally bad (although typically are very fast).

Is it wrong that whenever I see HDR400 I'm instantly put off? I constantly read that it's next to useless, and SDR on these monitors is either the same or better.

HDR600 and above or go home.

Not wrong at all - although HDR600 isn't really any better. If it's not HDR1000 with FALD then I wouldn't consider it as a “HDR Monitor” at all. Similar to the “HD Ready” debacle.
