My computer is great, but my internet doesn't even meet minumum specs. :(
Maverick is grounded……..
Considering the disparity between mid and end I'd say those are for 4K/max quality settings so I'd say they're pretty reasonable.
The ideal specs line up with the Xbox Series X gpu, ssd and cpu wise - ram is very different though
Damn.. I hope those bandwidth numbers are ‘download’ because my upload only manages the recommended lol.
I've got this vague recollection of seeing something about this version having real time flight traffic (be pretty empty right now I'd think) of ALL players and real life planes as well so there is potentially a lot of data being sent to the player if I'm remembering correctly so I can kind of understand the high end specs being listed.
Damn, that bandwidth is a killer. All the scenery streaming it looks like.
Look like a game I would like to buy :)
I meet the ideal specs (well, a Ryzen 1700 vs 2700. Close enough) in everything bar graphics card. I may look at upgrading my Radeon 580 to a Radeon 5700XT or GeForce 2070. But it's a lot of dough to splosh out on one game.
Really looking forward to this, alongside cyberpunk its up there in my most anticipated list…my PC meets the requirements, got my HOTAS & streamdeck all ready to go….i'm just a bit sad that we're not likely to get VR support at launch. My wallet isn't though as it might be the game that pushes me to upgrade my Rift to an S or Index!
That is quite a lot of horsepower being recommended and Microsoft doesn't provide any reason why.
The game looks gorgeous and scale is next level. The specs aren't outrageous aside from the bandwith bit.
Its going to be streamed scenery, no way would they get all that detail otherwise, thought it might have been.

In which case I presume it would cache it locally?
Don't see a mention of VR, seems a shame.
I found this info, explains a bit :
“Also, those bandwidth specifications are listed because the game offers to stream map data through Bing Maps while playing for a much more accurate and immersive experience. It is said that over two petabytes of data will be accessible from the cloud for this purpose.”
Also this on the VR front :
“Will Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Have VR Support?
Yes, head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jörg Neumann has said that VR is a ”high priority“ for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, following fan feedback.
It may not be available at launch, but there is a strong ambition to have it feature in this game.”
does the new simulator support Ray tracing?
I guess I can virtually fly the missus on holiday if the government won't let us… Sign me up!
