Think it has to be my OnePlus One. A bit like an old dog, she's been through a lot, and can't compete with younger phones but there's just something about this phone that I don't want to give up.
Without a doubt its my 2 Technics SL1200 mk 2 turntables. Coming in a close second are its younger cousins, the Denon SC5000M media players.
Got to be the old HD6990, the first (and last) dual you I ever bought!
Fondest memories, but it now lives on display along with all the old cards (Radeon 9550, HD5670, HD6670, HD7870 Tahiti LE, Fury X)….
And in a pinch it makes a great room heater!
i spent £3k on my 50“ pio plasma back in 2004, that was with £700 off. it lasted me 13 years till i replaced with a 65” 4k model last year, at a fraction of the price the pio was. the 60" model back then was £8k! was a great tv. it's been a while since i really felt like a piece of tech was prized though. first iphone was pretty cool at the time with that it could do, first PVR about 20 years ago was amazing stuff at the time, watching the same show you started recording before you got home and skipping through the ad's
“Most prized”?
That's hard, because different things have “value” to me (and I don't mean monetarily) in different ways.
For instance, a Mitchell turntable and Stax electrostatic phones are both prized, but both can either work together to give ‘benefit’ or can be used independently of each other, but with other hardware.
And how do I compare hifi with, for instance, scanners. I have film scanners, flatbed scanners (up to A3) and sheet-feeding auto-duplexing “document-imaging” scanners. All have been invaluable on one way or another, but how to decide if a high-res photi scanner is more “prized” than a high-speed doc-imaging scanner?
And the photo scanners, for my needs, require good printers, but how to compare an A3 (or even A2) inkjet photo printer, to a dye-sub printer? They have different but complementary uses.
And, of course, tying the whole lot together, and necessary to get the best out of them, is a quality colour-calibration device.
In other words, there's a synergy, as there is between different components in my hifi, and it's the system, the combination, that produces what I really value …. which is the result, be it high quality prints, or high quality sound.
And for the prints, I could also mention camera, or lens, or given that my particular passion in macro, even the £700 macro flash.
But again … synergy. With the fkash or lens, I wouldn't get a lot of images to print, and without printers, xalibeation, etc, I couldn't get the resukt I want, which is to print the images.
My point, I guess, is that I don't particularly value any tech item, and certainly not any single item. What I value is the capabilities they give me.
Prusa i3 mk2s 3D printer.
Upgrade kit for mk3s is on order.
I use it to fix things. There are bits all over the house, from the garden gate (part of the latch that had failed) to the car engine bay (an air intake hose).

Now
that is one computer-tech I have yet to get into, and yet am fascinated by.
I'm just not sure I understand enough to know if it's developed enough, yet, for me.
One of these days, I might pick yer brains on that, Mr. DwU.
I miss my 3D printer - it hasn't gone anywhere, but I'm still struggling to make room for a workbench for it in the garage. It's been a year, but I'm barely any closer.
My most prized tech possession is probably my Logitech G500 - It's still an awesome mouse, and it was a gift from a friend who passed away a few years ago.
Has to be my external hard drive, runs as backup but then work from it when out and sync both ways.
Saved my business reputation when my hard drive failed as I could keep working and nobody ever knew, always keep backups.
Percy1983
…. always keep backups.
That is probably the single most important piece of advice in the history of computing …. yet sadly, probably also the most widely ignored.
My old reliable iRiver H120 which has to be 20 years old, which I upgraded some years ago to 128GB HDD and RockBox, it now plays all my FLAC and MP3 music files, my entire music library :).
My Creamware Noah EX. It's a synth emulation device. I had one and the now ex-wife sold it and some other prized possessions for a pittance and told the world. Karma has come back to bite her on the bum though as I found out she was advertising as an “escort” on tinternet and we are currently in a family court battle. My 2nd wife found a Creamware Noah and bought it for me… good good times. Also now married again, and in a much better place…
My F-pace Supercharged car.
Pioneer a400 Amplifier. 1991. Still going strong (had an overhaul)

Feel free. There are still two ends of the market, the Prusa is pretty robust and works well out of the box but costs £700 in kit form.
There are cheaper models, the Creality Ender 3 getting a lot of press atm because it is under £200 and can produce some decent prints where traditionally at that price point you just got a fire hazard :)
In both cases, there is some fiddling involved. If you like fiddling with stuff anyway, they are awesome. We just got a big picture frame for a poster that my wife bought, and I'm not happy with how it is hanging on the wall so I will draw something up in a CAD package (FreeCAD, I really should learn another) and print it out to make it hang better.

I went to Wickes and got a kitchen worktop, a cupboard and set of drawers. It is very stable, and most of the junk that was around that area went into the cupboards and drawers so it kind of got me a new work level above the junk :D
3D printer is on the to get list…but it's after new projector (1080p) and a new works pc….
My desktop computer and everything connected to it, my little gaming corner is my world once the kids are in bed haha! Strap on the VR headset and I'm gone!
2400£ for my car speaker upgrades ^^ e90
My home server. It stores everything and provides services I use a lot.
At the moment its my newly acquired Edifier 3000pro speakers which produce amazing sound for what they cost.
My Raspberry pi running pi-hole which makes browsing without repetitive and irritating ads a pleasure, closely followed by my analogue mechanical wristwatch which was a 21st birthday present.
Dali Katch I got for last christmas from my wife - it's amazing.
My phone. It's not better than anyone else's, nor technically astounding, but it holds data of value and makes things possible I would never have imagined even 10 years ago.
Tough one.. At one point I might've said my projector when I had one.
I have lots of tech that is valuable to me if only because I *need* it like the laptop that is falling apart that I am using to type this post. Ditto for my phone. My many HD and memory card is valuable for what they hold. But those things, but they aren't prized in the sense that I will be telling my friends “guess what I just got”. I suppose that if I was to get a drone, that would become my most prized tech possession for a while.
If we can drop the word “tech”, I think that one of my most prized possession is a snowboard signed by the very Olympic gold medallist the board is named after (and used by - not the very one I have, but that model).. The board is still serving me great too.
Has to be my HTPC, originally constructed in like 2005. A bit like Trigger's broom, possibly only the case is original.
It's changed use model over the years from time-shift TV and is now primarily a NAS box with cloud backup, but is still carries all rip and transcode duties (low power i7 FTW).

Oh, that would be a different problem.
I'm a book nut and I have some …. unusual … books. Some first-ed Dickens, some
very early Shakespeare, et.al. Monetary value? Dunno for certain, but probably significant, if valuations are anywhere near correct. Enough to be a major insurance headache, at least. Also, don't care what they're worth ‘cos short of dire need, I’ll never sell, so it doesn't matter.
Also, a mid-19th Century silver fob watch I inherited from Dad, who inherited it from hus Dad. Value? Not totally sure but not much. Maybe £100. Again, don't care.
Or, some marquetry pieces Dad made, and gave me. Monetary value? Nil, probably. Sentimental value? Beyond measure. God help any thief that nicked those if I ever catch up with him. I'd end up doing time. And it'd be worth it. Now
they really are prized.
But it's totally different (for me, at least) for “tech” stuff, none of which is prized lime those.
My Steam account?
Can't think of anything else I own that isn't pretty easily replaced. Probably more valuable than any other tech item I own too!
A brain-wrenchingly subjective QOTW, this…
Prized - Valuable and highly sought after?
Aside from the PC…. Dunno.
If you want some kind of significance in life, I guess my 10.5" Acer Netbook counts, as it was my only PC when I relocated and was working my way up from a rented studio room… I spent a good couple of years playing any game it would run. Add to that one of several PDA phones, since I exercised choice of form and function over fashion trend (and financial splash) when everyone else was going iPhone-mad… which I continue to do.
Or I could just look at whatever my latest treasure is, in this case a Nitecore TUP - 1/15/60/200/1,000 lumen output with stonking battery life and an LED display, all in a package the size of a car key. I'm currently the envy of all my torch geek friends. Yay me…
But if we move away from the electronic side of things, there are various other options. Motorcycles and cars are pretty stunning and iconic technology… but so too are my Swiss Army Knives and my lensatic & prismatic compasses.
my hawke airmax 30 sf 8-32*50 amx ir riflescope- is that technical enough?

you can get a valuation on your account pretty easily online
Can't say i've ever had one. Tech becomes obsolete, or at least less shiny, in such a relatively short period of time.
There is an old laptop in the loft, old, I mean really old. It's useless but it was my dads and he's not around anymore, so yeah, that isn't going anywhere. But then that's a piece of tech prized for something other than it being a piece of tech.
Hands down it would have to be my Nvidia Shield. it does some of my gaming and all of my streaming/TV shows and Movies. i am currently on a business trip and of course i bring it along so i can keep up with my episodes.
It would have to be my desktop computer, built it myself (like the last, say, 20 desktops I've owned, I do it for a living), it's special 'cause it took me a long time to get the right parts and it finally feels like the kind of computer I want to keep longer than a couple of years. Ended up spending about $1,500 (USD, around 1,400 quid maybe) and I feel quite proud of it.
Well I still have a Alienware X51 from the year of 2011, I’ve upgraded the cpu from i3 2120 to i5 3450 and the gpu from the original got 640 to a gtx 1050 and that’s it. It’s worth nothing and I’ve been saying for the last couple of years I’m going to replace it but I just don’t have the heart to get rid of it.
