Well I mean, she does drone on from time to time but I don't think I own her :P
Dad has one on his chanter, but that's about it.
Love the idea, but I'd probably get bored of it too quickly.
I bought a micro-drone a couple of years back - fairly basic with a bog standard fixed HD camera - fun for messing around indoors but far too easily swept away by gusts of wind to risk taking it beyond the back garden.
Yes, Mavic pro, fly it occasionally and also took it to US and France on holiday and took some nice videos. Had to register with FAA for the US trip for $5 but no issues at the airports.
Sticking to legal height and range.
Nope, I'd only get one if I actually had a use for one (I don't).
Left my drones at the airport.
No.
The uses are very limited in reality, and I would likely get bored of it quickly even if I did have something that fit one of the uses.
Syma X8G at moment. To be replaced with a Bugs 3 Pro ordered monday. Camera used is a Xiaomi Yi 4K
No. I'm impressed by what I see (video/photo wise) but too breezy here and very limited use for the cost. Plus likely to require licences/training before long, especially after the Heathrow incidents…
Considering i live just 2miles from Gatwick airport and the recent
shenanigans in the area, i think it'd be a very bad idea :P
Yes, a Phantom 3 4k drone, great for taking videos, really fun, just have to watch out, I broke a rotor, but it comes with extras.
My parents got me a toy one a few years ago and it broke while being taken out of its package. So I don't really have one. What with all the rules about flying drones, especially in the city with people around, I'd rather have a drone sailboat or even drone submarine, though our lakes are too murky to see much :)
My kids got me a cheap one for christmas which was a surprise. It's great fun but although I have a farm to play on I think an expensive one would be a nine day wonder.
Nope & no desire to buy one.
I have DJI Phantom 3 Standard.
Easy to fly and makes great videos.
Recently I moved close to the airport so I do not fly it anymore.
However it is to big to take it on vacations, so maybe I will sell it and buy Spark or Mavic
Like others here, don't have one, don't want one and, if I did get one I would soon get bored with it.
I did. It flew off, in a mild-medium wind, into my neighbours bushes, a few months ago, and has not turned up since, and I only got a day or so play out of it so I've considered that £99 a total waste of money.
No, it does interest me but not enough to part with money.
Have a DJI Spark. It's pretty good fun to take out and about (UK holidays only so far). Have replaced one of the ESCs and motors due to falling over while carrying it in the salt marshes in Norfolk :)
The image quality is impressive for 1080P and it's pretty quick. I can't fault it really, especially as I picked it up in a deal with the controller for less than the price of the standalone.
No, I don't have one and shall not be getting one. I do like the witty remark posted by Ttaskmster 25Jan referring to a chanter, that and drones being the parts of a set of bagpipes.
No, I personally do not own one. Three members of my houshold each own a drone. I am greatly interested in drones and will be getting one once I have decided on the most appropriate choice.
I might be more interested if you could get a drone that auto-follows a small tag, which I can then affix to my dog's collar… I'd need three drones, though, and in different colours!

I think I'm at the stage where I need to rewrite my signature….!!
Looking from the cloud up there, it reaches a wide field to explore
Built 2 - A Strix and Bolt race ed. and building 2 others, Remix and a Rooster. Stupid names but carbon fibre and titanium make up for it plus stronger than a Corsair 800-D. Fan speed of 45,000 rpm , Love to see these in a PC. Linus! you listening?. DJI's are tourist toys and FPV will cost about the same as building your PC . Next thing to try, Wingsuit. (so theres no imoji for that)
Mavic Air,
DJI 450,
DJI 550,
Tarot X4,
Tarot 690 Sport
and lots of parts. I much prefer building drones to flying drones.
I have a little indoor one.
The outdoor ones though? Like 4 blenders with complex control electronics, what could go wrong ;) Don't think so.
I Own A Small Remote , But Nothing Like A Drone , Would Love To Own One Before I Pass Away !!
I got a few small ones myself and we have some large ones at work.
So far i havent had any serious issues, only a few tip-overs at landing/take-off. And i have only had one person being in a bad mood over me flying a drone.
I got into drone-flying from being offered it at work, which meant getting the required education in handling them, insurrence and so on. We have a Matrice 600 Pro and a Phantom 3 Pro at work. And they are only used for making interesting film angles.
The ones i have myself is 2 tiny ones (maybe 100gram weight and cost about 20-30 pound each), then i have a freestyle drone, cost about 70-80 pound.
And my last purchase was a Spry, which is a waterproof drone that can land in water, which makes me feel more comfortable flying at home, since i live by the sea. Havent flown it yet thoughm, since its still winter here.
Taking the Matrice 600 from work with me home and flying over the water was always a bit of a risc, since it cost 6000+ pound, and everyone who has flown enough know that at some point, drones will either failsafe or do emergency landing, even without you being at fault.
If you stick with the tiny drones, you can usually find them for about 60-70 pound and that gets you a drone, 1-3 batteries, low-quality video goggles and a remote.
You can have a lot of fun with those, for little money.
But if you want them for filming, its gets expensive real quick, and there's a pile of laws you need to obay.
Most of my friends are drones, but I don't own them.
As a YouTube content creator, I keep debating whether to get a drone. The problem is that to get the quality that would be required for good quality footage, I'd have to be spending quite a bit of money.
Kind of need to borrow one for a bit to see how I get on…

DJI Phantom 4 advanced….
If you want to check out one on the cheap MJX Bugs 3 Pro. Mine was £130 with 2 x batteries. Won't cut it for youtube though

I have no drones of the quadcopter type, which is what you mean here. The degree of automation makes them a bit boring, with the exception of drone racing, which is well… a serious challenge. Bored users looking for some more interesting application is where it sometimes goes wrong, a bit like computer hacking. The dark side of the force.
I do have plenty of radio control aircraft (without a camera on board and not First Person Video), which are also technically drones (which has caused all sorts of panic and regulations definition problems!)
Quadcoptors provide an excellent camera platform used responsibly. Though they may well get more disturbing, if the police start pre-programmed patrolling with them. (Cheaper than officers on the beat) Science fiction soon to be fact.

That would also mean I get more target practice in on my old-fashioned projectile guns, and the cyberpunk whizz-kids down the road can stop using live animals for testing their homebrew Tasers and EMPs and sonic boomers and Las-Knives and other such sci-fi weaponry…
Minor necro. I've been wanting an action camera oriented action drone but still can't quite justify the cost (also worried about whether the battery can hold in cold weather, and if they are smart enough to avoid collision with trees).
But I'd pay money for a drone designed to patrol, detect, chase, target and zap mosquitos. Maybe with a camera capturing the moment those flying disease carrying blood suckers are shot down.
Can you tell that I am having troubles with mosquitoes?
