Why? They're releasing some of the best best budget & mid range phones available at the moment. Build quality is decent, software updates are regular and frequent and prices are stunning.
It looks bad, to be honest . Will see in a real life how it perform.

Have to see what it looks like in real life but I think it looks better than the Mate 20 Pro just going by the pics.
Meh.
I'm waiting for Apple to release one with eleven cameras….
I hope this means the same pureview tech Nokia used on it's windows phone days, I still miss the camera on my Lumia phone. It was just great! A little slow to process images, but hey every camera was slow back then. At least it gave really great results even in low light situations and photos were sharp more often than not.
I was really worried microsoft had acquired this tech which would mean it's a dead tech given Microsoft doesn't make phones anymore. Nor seem to even try to implement good quality cameras on the devices they do.
I'd rather a Nokia then a Chinese spyware phone
(Xiaomi, Oneplus, Huawei & Vivo).
I will laugh my ass off if this comes with a snapdragon 845 chip, that chip came out in 2017. Its only a few days away from 2019 and only a few months away from the releasing of the 855 chip. Nokias procurement and marketing department should be fired, that is really poor planning releasing a top tier phone in 2019 and using a 2017 sourced chip. sad marketing

Go up to anyone in the street and ask them what processor is in their phone and 95% won’t know or care. To them it’s a commodity, just like a washing machine or digital radio.

The 845 was announced in Dec 2017, no phone was released with it till Feb/March 2018, so it's a bit disingenuous to call it a “2017 sourced chip” also if you read the article this Nokia was delayed in it's release so nobody knows what chipset it'll have. Maybe it'll have an 855, or something lower spec but really, as Peter says, as long as it's fast enough, the general public wont care.
ETR316, I just bought a phone with an 845. Perfectly happy with it - faster than anything I need it for, much smaller node process than my previous phone chip (so more efficient/better for battery life). There's always something better round the corner - with rare exceptions, it's not usually worth waiting for…
What is it with Nokia having wacky phone designs? :shocked2: Anyway, looks interesting and hope that their version of Android won't be too bloated!

It's part of the Android One programme it's as lean as it gets bar AOSP.
So why five lenses, anyway?
Is it two for 3D pics, one telephoto, one close-up and…. one for night vision, perhaps?
I am quite impressed with nokia's releases as of late. I am in the process of RMAing a sony XZ. So I bought a Nokia 1 from Argos for £30 (half price, £1 free credit and unlockable for free after 30 days). This is no word of a lie, the value has surpased itself as it feels snappier in every regard besides games obveously. I am not bothered by resolution as i always have it on 480p to save data when watching youtube and who cares for MC:pocket edition which still ran. Android Go is seemless, reminded me of my old nexus 6 on release but a bit more simple. Overall the care put into such a small thing is outstaning. I can get a good 8-10 hours of screen on time through video playback and 2 days if just calls, music and a bit of browsing. No fast charging but 3 hours is fine if i ever flatten it. I think i'm going to sell the XA and put it towards a new cpu. The XA I have had from new just over 6 months, I love sony hardware and their cusomer service but the fact the screen adhesive came off itself.

If I had to guess i'd go for
1. Normal
2. Macro
3. Wide angle
4. Telephoto
5. Monochrome/Depth of field
And a combination of all or some of the above for night time low light. :)
