I can see this as a 3D imaging gimmick. I can't see it working very well as a 3D gimmick.
If it is to be used on a flagship phone, it'll need a separate proper camera otherwise the compromises will be so great I can't see it being competitive. So it'll be silly expensive.
No change there then.
Oh and “AI software” which will allow you to “change a subject's head”… umm, I can't see this being abused in any way shape or form.
How long until “School kid kills self after fake naked selfie made on smartphone spread around school” hits the headlines? Simple image editing is one thing as it's so obviously fake, but making it seamless and easy is opening the door to all sorts of trouble. Photoshopping should remain a skill.

Stop trying to make me associate all the cameras with cute fuzzy animals, I'm trying to maintain a cynical and distrusting attitude here…
Even with the size of modern phones I'm not sure even if the camera were 6" apart that it'd be able to capture that much extra information to make an object even slightly rotatable. They could compete with 1830s stereoscopic images though.

My ancient HTC Evo 3D could take images that are able to be slightly rotated by moving the phone/screen around, and that just used a simple dual lens solution!
I've actually kept that phone safe in a drawer as it's niche tech does still come in handy, especially for holiday videos (you can view them on a 3dtv and get a real sense of seeing the places you have been again, 3D may be dead but I am very happy I invested in it to be perfectly honest, but now I am just rambling off topic, sorry!).
