Hoonigan
Page down?
Not only that, but I was just trying to increase my chances by entering on FB. Just to find out “this competition is now closed”. Someone jumped the gun on this?
Posted by jimborae - Tue 01 May 2018 19:48
Something wierd is going on.
Posted by Output - Tue 01 May 2018 21:05
It was definitely up earlier, and I took a note that the closing date was 28th May, so I'm going to assume it going missing again is a mistake (although also assuming it does come back, I'd wonder if the entry I have already done would still count).

hello

I tripped over a plug in the server room, then plugged the vacuum cleaner in by accident and sucked up all the SSD's….not

Actually, what really happened is that we did a little error and it will be back soon. It didn't involve a vacuum cleaner but MIGHT involve pliers and someones finger nails ;)

Will be back soon and previous entries will still be safe

Wasn't that going to be one of the questions - how to spell HEXUS correctly? Guess thats ruled Hoonigan out.. :p

Oops - that's blown it….

Your programmers shouldn't have fingernails if they were working hard enough :)

Gulp.

It was not I.

I wasn't there.

I wasn't in the office at the time.

In fact, I don't even know where the office is.

Wait …. you have an office?

You sealed a load of SSDs inside an empty biscuit tin, to ‘see how long their battery lasts’, didn't you…… !!

Then someone thought there was biscuits in the tin,and ate some SSDs and had to have a quick trip to A and E!! :p
Posted by wazzickle - Wed 02 May 2018 13:55
So the delay was whether they're still working after getting eaten and sending someone to a&e? They must be very durable.
Posted by Fizzl - Wed 02 May 2018 15:22
The page is missing AND the office is missing? Coincidence!?

I have been looking at getting an NVMe drive for a while now, so this would save some money if I won haha!

dya know what? I'm glad it's such a popular thing… a HEXUS giveaway :)

get entered y'all
Posted by chrestomanci - Fri 04 May 2018 12:04
Entered, though I am a bit confused about the third prize:

Third Prize: Blue 3D 250GB M.2 or Green 120GB 2.5

If you get a choice of prize you would expect the alternatives to be equally desirable or at lest cost about the same. Of the two choices, the M.2 drive is double the capacity, more than double the speed, and probably costs about 4 times as much.

Even if I did not have an M.2 slot in my PC (and I won the prize), the sensible thing to do would be to buy a cheap PCIe adaptor that would allow me to plug it in at full speed, without any compatibility issues.

But remember the m.2 are slightly “used” after being miskaten for a biscuit.

AFAIK, all cheese is made through solid state fermentation…?

You really don't want State issued biscuits, though, as they are very solid… Think of those rock-hard Ships Biscuits you used to get from the gift shop at HMS Victory (novelty-shaped concrete, basically) and then go further. The KGB used to carry them as weapons.

I get the impression Zak has been made Safety Officer and has overseen a reduction in accidents exactly the same as the amount of accidents caused by Zak in his previous role.

Just putting it out there, floating an idea…

Edit: Just scuppered my chances of winning, I think.
Posted by Hoonigan - Fri 04 May 2018 19:46
Just heard a report on the news of a guy who goes by the Alias “Smudger” has been abducted by a man in a bright orange van in St. Albans. Apparently the abductor complained about capital letters or something as well.

Just had a 2TB Seagate Barracuda die on me yesterday. Not backed up, of course. I'm currently in mourning, and getting a couple of SSDs would certainly cheer me up.
Posted by ByteMyAscii - Mon 07 May 2018 23:14
Seems a strange selection for each tier, somehow I expected the green to be a lower prize rather than bundled in with the more performance oriented ones.
Still more SSD storage would be welcome regardless, though i'd need new motherboard before I could take advantage of the m.2.

Hey Guys, hope you are all well, as you are aware I am blind so, therefore, have to use the computer with specialised audible software. I've been entering these competitions for well it seems like forever I think God was a teenager when I first started lol BUT I seem to be passed by every time. may I ask a question which we all must have asked ourselves from time to time, “Are these `WINNERS` real people?”

Has anyone noticed is there any criteria for picking winners? Or is it just aged VIPs who tend to get overlooked or am I just feeling a little `hard done by?`

anyway I wish each and everyone of you good luck

They are indeed, as a few forum regulars have already proven. Some others are only in it for the competition, but we do have some Hexites who post pics of their winnings.

I have not had reason to ask myself that on this site.
Some others, yes.
But that was for reasons other than me not winning.
More the presentation such as using other people's images, and lack of information such as rules.

Hi there. Quick noob question.

I've already participated here and on Facebook, but i came back today to check and it's open again like I haven't participated. This already happened in past competitions.

The question: If i submit another answer here and FB do I get disqualified?

Website and Facebook entries are still seperate, so they both count.

We emailed him today to ask.
