A lot of PC gear is like that though. I wouldn't say Razer's stuff feels any different to Logitech's etc.

FWIW I had a Mamba 2012 that lasted 5 years before the RMB died. It probably could have been fixed if I'd taken it apart but it had also suffered thousands of hours of LoL in that time with multiple RMB clicks per second.

Worrying in my opinion that less RGB on the mouse is deemed a bad thing, while loss of adjustable click force is insignificant.
Moving the cable to the mat is pretty significant when it comes to mobility of the mouse, the very reason why I personally would want a wireless mouse in the first place.
I am not of the view that everything simply has to be wireless, so a cable on a mouse mat or a keyboard is a non-issue for me.
Though the cost is far too high currently, for Razer and for other competing implementations which I suspect aren't compatible with each other.

But the mouse pad is also RGB!

It seems to me that it's a solution looking for a problem. Don't want wires? Buy a standard wireless mouse for a fraction of the cost. Don't want the weight of the battery/connection issues that may* come with wireless? Buy a wired mouse for an even smaller fraction of the cost.

Is there really much of a market for those who:
1. Don't want wires
2. Think battery powered wireless mice are too heavy or unresponsive
3. Care enough about 1 & 2 to spend this kind of money

Razer obviously think so, but I'm not so sure.

* It's a long time since I last used a wireless mouse, I'm assuming you still get a few months out of a battery and the connection and response rates have improved?

A lot of Razer mice feel like they're made of cheap, thin, flimsy plastic, especially the buttons.
My CoolerMaster, Roccat and Logitech mice all feel like absolute tanks by comparison.
Only the recent Razer mice have felt more substantial.

It's not actual wirelessness, IMO. You're still tied to the desktop and/or that mousemat.
A proper wireless mouse can be used on your jeans from ten feet away!!

While I use my G700S in wired mode, it takes but a moment to just unplug the cable from the front of the mouse. It'd be easy enough (and FAR better IMO) to make all peripherals optionally wireless just like this, and so have the best of both worlds!
