I'm happy for the Shazam team, who I know from way back in the day. Hard work that.
There goes an app that I've had installed across multiple devices for years :(

this. Sigh.
Its probably good for a person I know who works for them but sucks for the rest of us. Recently Sony pulled TrackID and told people to use Shazam instead.
I see no reason to uninstall the app at all at the moment, there is no reason to suggest (at least in the short term) that the service will change.

Other than past experience with other applications Apple has bought and then killed off on all non-Apple platforms….logic pro springs to mind immediately…
Also, looking at
Apple apps on Android doesn't paint a rosy image for the future of shazam on android
I would be very disappointed if Shazam became an apple exclusive app. Sure they ‘bought’ it, but it's got like a 16 year vintage, why would they callously cut people off from it? Typical apple mindset if they do. Shame on them.
Now you got me concerned :./
I use soundhound. is shazam better?
Meh, stopped using it ages ago anyway. Marshmallow (and later) includes Google's “What's This Song?”, which works fine. It even works using the “OK Google” to find the audio.
These news sadden me. Any alternatives for this app?
Update: Oh, I see above suggestions…
we are doomed. uninstalling on all my devices now.
