It seems if the fans may not spin up when the cooler is set to “auto” mode, as evidenced by system noise levels not increasing under load. It'd be nice to see what the performance difference would be if the fans were set to “PWM” mode.

If you can upgrade and add components like the GPU cooler how is the liquid handled? how do you add more? what do you add? what is the coolant? does opening it up introduce bacteria contamination?

One major complaint I had of the Kelvin S24 was the pump noise, glad they sorted that.

I just can't see the point in this; adding a pump, liquid, and more moving parts than a simple air cooler, but with no real performance boost over one

I used to be a bit of a water cooler critic too, but then I invested in one to OC with and they are worth it if you have the use for it, they also satisfy the OCD side of me with creating tidier looking builds (not that being tidier is really worth the price premium mind!).

letsrace, we've run some further numbers for you:

• With the cooler set to PWM and header control disabled through BIOS (i.e. the Celsius S24 running flat out), noise level increased to 47.6dB and load temperature dropped to 52.3C.
  
• Using a quick-and-easy profile in the Asus BIOS, we then set the header to 30 per cent if below 30C, 50 per cent at 50C and 70 per cent if over 70C. With these settings in place noise peaked at 33.9dB and load temperature reached 59.4C.

Are you sure? The comparison coolers includes the "be quiet! Silent Loop 240mm", after all…

Amazing dedication as usual Parm, thanks :) Cross-referencing the charts, using the BIOS profile still makes it the quietest liquid cooler on test and increases cooling performance until it's second only to the be quiet … not bad at all.

Ahkey, we've spoken to Fractal and the latest update is that “stock should be available on Friday.” In the meantime, retailer listings are beginning to appear - CCL has both the Celsius S24 and S36 showing as ‘coming soon.’

Really like the design of this, might actually look to upgrade to it from my Antec P182 when I get round to chopping my mobo combo.
