German cooling and power-supply specialist be quiet! has introduced its most budget-friendly chassis in the form of the Pure Base 500.

The mid-tower case will be available in black (£70), gunmetal grey and white (both £80) and the trio is offered with either a window (an extra £10) or standard side panel.

It can accommodate a 240mm radiator in the top, 360mm in the front (by moving the hard-drive cage) and ships with a couple of SilentWings 2 140mm fans. Depending upon cooling, there's space for five SSDs or two HDDs, as well.

A neat feature is the changeable top covers for either air or water cooling, (both are bundled) and we like the near-full-width metal PSU shroud. What is missing, however, is top-mounted USB Type-C.

We look forward to putting it through the paces when it arrives at retail in September.

be quiet! has also updated its PSU range with a Platinum-rated Straight Power 11, which comes with a £15 premium over the standard Gold-rated model that's already shipping. Maximum capacity jumps to 1,200W.

Take a peek at be quiet!'s Martin giving us a run-through of both the chassis and PSU's features.
