In the wake of AMD's announcement of its Radeon RX 5500 series using 7nm Navi GPUs, MSI has provided further details of its all-AMD gaming laptop, the MSI Alpha 15. The first of a new gaming laptop series from MSI, the Alpha 15 bristles with the firm's typical game experience enhancing technologies and is based around a 15.6-inch 144Hz 1080p IPS Radeon FreeSync display. Inside the key components are the AMD Ryzen 7 3750H APU and Radeon RX 5500M GPU.

Thanks to the use of the newest AMD Radeon RX 5500M graphics processor, MSI can claim that the Alpha 15 "is the first gaming laptop to feature 7nm technology". The firm says that this is a "budget gaming" design, and it will cost $999 or $1099 when it arrives later this month, with 8GB or 16GB of RAM, respectively.

Despite its 'budget' status, MSI has packed the design with some of its best mobile gaming PC tech. As well as the fast IPS FreeSync screen, mentioned in the intro, it implements a powerful cooling system, per-key RGB keyboard, Giant Speaker, High-Res audio, and more.

On the topic of cooling, MSI is leveraging Cooler Boost 5 to keep this system ticking over nicely when under duress. This is a 7-heatpipe cooling module with dedicated APU and GPU whirlwind blade fans and is based upon a design which it has used previously in gaming laptops with discrete GPUs.

The built-in audio is another strong point of the MSI Alpha 15 design. The so called 'Giant Speaker' has a "5x bigger speaker chamber" than typical laptops for better volume and clarity. Additionally, the Alpha 15 supports Hi-Res audio via headphones.

Looks interesting from AMD. Performance + power saving.
I wonder how well it performs in a crowd.
AMD is my favourite, it is good than intel, right?
