TAKE, SAVE AND SHARE PICTURES IN AN INSTANT AT WWW.SENDPHOTOS.COM

A new free application that enables Apple iPhone users to take a photo, back it up online and share the image with friends instantly all through one click of a button is now available. Avanquest SendPhotos combines Mobile, desktop and Web 2.0 technology to provide a convenient, customisable and free way of instantly sharing photos with friends and family.

The new iPhone application automates instantaneous photo uploads to the SendPhotos personal portal for organising an entire photo collection online, making images easily accessible to friends, families and business associates. Users are also able to edit photos on the 3G device. Both the Macintosh and iPhone applications are available as free downloads at www.sendphotos.com, via iTunes or the iPhone App Store. Users can begin sharing photos immediately, easily setting up an account within the iPhone application.

"SendPhotos provides tight integration with all leading Smartphone platforms to enable instantaneous uploading of photos with ‘set it and forget it' simplicity," said David Wright, president, Avanquest Product Design Group. "The iPhone is one of more than 150 popular mobile devices from leading manufacturers for which we now provide certified support. Giving Macintosh and iPhone users access to our powerful application with its mobile and desktop client and unique sharing features brings us closer to our goal of making universal photo sharing a reality for SendPhotos users."

The iPhone application's built-in photo editor allows colour and contrast adjustments to images and provides the ability to annotate, crop and ‘smudge' out parts of a photo. Other features include support for Wi-Fi as well as cellular connectivity, allowing mobile subscribers to avoid costly data charges. Also unveiled today is the SendPhotos iPhoto Plug-in for the popular Mac Photo Gallery application, which gives users of the popular iLife '09 iPhoto Macintosh application a simple one-step method for publishing of photos to the SendPhotos service.

The Avanquest SendPhotos website provides a personal and private online cache for uploading, archiving, synchronisation and sharing of digital images. The www.SendPhotos.com site allows access only to user-authorised family, friends and associates without third-party publicity or search-engine pickup and dissemination across the Internet.  A simple drag-and-drop, animated and extremely fluid interface facilitates the easy transfer of stored photos to a variety of external photo sharing and social networking sites, including Picasa, MySpace and many others. Currently in beta mode, everybody can use Avanquest SendPhotos now and enjoy 1GB of free storage space, enough to store approximately 2000 photos**.

In addition to sharing their own photos, users can invite friends and family to ‘share-back' their images. The owner of an Avanquest SendPhotos space simply provides permission to the ‘visitor' and they upload images to complement an album. This provides the opportunity to create a comprehensive photo album for a night out clubbing or summer holiday. Users create permission settings for all photo albums, ensuring complete privacy to avoid any embarrassing situations.
