Acer UK confirms Windows® 8 PC Lineup available from November 2012: Ultrabooks™,Tablets, and AIO Desktops

London UK: October 31, 2012: Acer UK confirms its range of Windows 8-based products that will be available in the UK from November 2012.  Products include the premium Aspire S7 UltrabookTM, ICONIA W Series tablets, Aspire 5600U all-in-one (AIO) desktop and V5 Touch and M5 Touch Ultrabooks.

The products will be available from outlets such as Amazon.co.uk, John Lewis, Comet, Tesco, Dixons and Shop Direct.

The Aspire S7 UltrabookTM - the premium model in the S Series - comes in two sizes, 13.3 and 11.6-inch, and share the same great features for a superb user experience. Both models boast a sleek aluminium chassis making them exceptionally slim and light, both have a Full HD 10-point display that shows sharp and detailed images when watching movies or playing games.  The 13.3-inch model is currently the thinnest Full HD touch UltrabookTM and features glossy tempered glass and 12 hours of battery life, while the 11.6-inch model is the smallest Full HD touch-enabled UltrabookTM offering a full day of productivity at 9 hours battery life. Both devices are kitted out with the innovative Acer Twin Air cooling system for best thermal comfort, as well as a light-sensing keyboard that adjusts its backlight to facilitate typing, even in low light. Both models also feature Acer Green Instant On for fast reboot and resume, and Acer Always Connect technology which lets users connect to the Internet and access their data in less than one second, anytime, anywhere.

The Aspire S7 UltrabookTM will start from £1,149.99.

The ICONIA W510 and W700 tablets have raised touch functionality to the next level. The Iconia W510 is equipped with a high-end 10.1-inch display and comes with a detachable keyboard. The slim, easy-to-dock keyboard not only offers a comfortable typing experience, but it extends the battery life up to 18 hours and allows users to rotate the tablet 295 degrees so that it can be used in presentation mode, great for watching a video or viewing a presentation. The screen features tri-mode touch, which allows users to touch, type and view, and Acer's Always On, Always Connect technology ensures fast web connections.

The Iconia W700 is the best-performing Windows tablet with a versatile cradle that is adjustable for different viewing requirements while offering data storage expansion and an additional battery. Sporting an 11.6-inch Full HD touchscreen, the W700 delivers vivid, well-defined visuals to ensure photos, videos and movies in the sharpest detail. It is also equipped with Dolby® Home Theater® v4 for superb sound.To top off the rich entertainment experience, the Iconia W700 comes with Acer CrystalEye HD rear and front-facing webcams to engage in live chats with friends. Aspire 5600U AIO desktop: The elegant Aspire 5600U is the thinnest AIO available.  It features an ergonomic touch design and can tilt from 30 to 85 degrees for enhanced single-user comfort. It's designed for use as an everyday family-hub that presents Full HD visuals and Dolby® Home Theater® Surround Sound along with powerful graphics and quick responsiveness

The Aspire 5600U starts from £899. 

Aspire M5 Touch: Ultra mobile at just 20 mm slim and 2.3 kg, this 10-point touch display UltrabookTM still provides a full-size chiclet keyboard for speedy input, and fast file transfers via USB 3.0 and Bluetooth® 4.0. Pop a disc into the optical drive and savour the sound of Dolby® Home Theater® v4 sound. The Aspire M5 UltrabookTM also features instant-on performance, 8+ hours of power, and a touchscreen.

The Aspire M5 Touch starts from £649.99.

Aspire V5 TouchThe V5 Series 10-point touch display notebooks are all 30% slimmer than the same class. The 11.6-inch model is less than 15 mm thin while the 14-inch model includes an optical drive and is under 21 mm and 2.1 kg; the 15.6-inch model, also with an optical drive, is thinner than 23 mm, and weighs less than 2.3 kg.

The V5 Series features powerful Intel® CoreTM family processors,* and renowned NVIDIA® GeForce® GT Series graphics for impressive daily multitasking, content creation and multimedia enjoyment.

Easy to use on the go, the V5 Series features Acer Instant Connect, which automatically scans and registers most-visited access points, letting users connect to the Internet in just 2.5 seconds, which is four times faster than conventional methods.

The Aspire V5 Touch starts from £549.

Acer Windows 8 Upgrade:

Acer believes that its customers should have access to, and benefit from, the latest technology, which is why Acer has been an active partner in promoting the official Microsoft Windows 8 Upgrade program. In June, Acer introduced a unique promotion, offering to refund the cost of the official online Microsoft Windows 8 Upgrade, on all Acer UltrabookTM purchased between 2nd June 2012 and 31st January 2013.

Acer is pleased to announce that this offer has been expanded to include selected Notebooks and Desktops. Specifically, the promotion will now include Acer Aspire Notebooks, Acer Aspire Desktops originally supplied with Windows 7 Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate. It will also include Acer TravelMate Notebooks and Veriton Desktops that were originally supplied with Windows 7 Home Basic or Windows 7 Home Premium. This part of the promotion is valid for eligible products purchased between 1st October 2012 and 31st January 2013.

The promotion offers to refund the customer for the cost of the official Microsoft Online Upgrade, so once customers have completed the online Microsoft Upgrade, they should visit www.acer.com/windows8upgrade and follow the link to the claim page. Here the customer will be asked to provide information to confirm they have completed the Microsoft Upgrade Program and to identify themselves and their product. Once this has been verified and the customer has met the requirements, Acer will then refund the customer for the online cost of the Microsoft Upgrade Process.
