Once again, it's time for AMD to release a new version of its Catalyst drivers.  Among the additions this month are support for OpenGL ES 2.0, enhanced video playback, performance improvements for four-card Eyefinity set-ups and the option to force anti-aliasing in Starcraft II.

OpenGL ES is the embedded version of the OpenGL graphics-platform that is used to enable rich 3D content on the web.  Using the WebGL protocol, a site can leverage the power of a video card to provide accelerated 3D graphics within a browser.  As of this driver release, AMD cards will fully support the latest version of the platform.

The Catalyst team has also been tinkering with the video playback options.  The default settings should now provide enhanced image quality for a better overall viewing experience.

Some of you may remember that an AA-enabling hotfix for Catalyst 10.7 was released shortly after Starcraft II arrived at retail a few weeks ago.  While this is the same brute-force solution that was made available then, the fix has been integrated into the driver package.

Obviously the Catalyst 10.8 drivers include all of the normal tweaks, fixes and performance improvements, but there are no particularly noteworthy changes this month.  Full details as well as the download links are available from AMD's website now.

I'm just glad they fixed the crippling memory leak in Borderlands under Win7!
I'm more interested to if they are going to introduce a 3d option much like Nvidia even if it's only for blu ray.
The question is, have they fixed the 120hz problem with the samsung 2233rz?

I noticed that as well. I think it came in with the 10.7 or 10.6 drivers. My old 4770 could mostly get a fairly steady 60fps with a few drops to 45-50 on max settings, but when I upgraded to a 5850 earlier this month (10.7) I was only getting 25fps with regular drops to 15. Turning dynamic shadows off got 60fps, but didn't quite look right after being used to them. After an hour when the memory leak got bad, it dropped to a steady 1-2fps.

It turned out if I turned off Catalyst AI in CCC I could get an easy 60fps with no drops with everything on max. Seems like the 10.8s should fix it all but I can't check right now.

Since when have drivers had to support specific monitors individually? :\
