HTC-related rumour round-up
A listing of HTC's fabled Desire HD handset has fleetingly flashed up on Amazon UK, perhaps confirming the rumours of its existence and even imminent release.
Electric Pig nabbed a screen shot of the post on Monday night, although the handset's official name is still unclear and was listed partly as its rumoured codename of ‘Ace'.
The Amazon listing reportedly priced the "HTC 99HLZ001-00 ACE/Desire HD" at £415.
The next generation of HTC's successful Desire handset is predicted to boast a 4.3 inch display, 8 megapixel camera, 1 GHz processor and run Android 2.2.
Although there has been no official mention of the Desire HD/Ace's existence from its creator, it is predicted to be unveiled at HTC's mystery event on 15 September. The phone itself is tipped for an October launch.
HTC is also rumoured to be building a Google tablet running the search giant's Chrome operating system.
According to Download Squad, the tablet will be offered via Verizon and is predicted to go on sale on 26 November, the busiest shopping day of the year in the US. The site has also tipped the tablet to be heavily subsidised or even free with a Verizon data contract and it is estimated to be much cheaper than Apple's iPad, which starts at $499.
The tablet is rumoured to pack 2GB of RAM, a built in webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G connectivity, a 1280x720 touch screen and be based on NVidia's Tegra 2 platform.
