PRESS RELEASE

London, 12 August 2010 - Fujitsu today announces the ultimate notebook for the true road warrior. The new Tablet PC LIFEBOOK T730 packs all the must-have features for a frequent traveller, now also including optional built-in GPS (Global Positioning System).

The new LIFEBOOK T730 is perfect for the portable computer user always on the move, excelling in an airport lounge, on-site with customers or catching up with e-mails on the move. This is because the new LIFEBOOK T730 includes optionally embedded 3G/UMTS featuring GPS support, as well as WLAN and Bluetooth for unrivalled mobile connectivity.

Light, fast and flexible are keywords that personify the new 12.1-inch Fujitsu LIFEBOOK T730, designed from the ground-up as the ideal travel companion. Tipping the scales from only 1.8kg, the LIFEBOOK T730 is light enough to be carried around all day. The LIFEBOOK T730 is also fast, featuring the latest powerful 2010 Intel CoreTM Processor Family, combined with an optional super-responsive SSD hard disk drive and ample memory to run even the most-complex and demanding applications.

Flexibility comes from Fujitsu's own twist-to-touch bi-directional Tablet screen, Windows 7 multi-touch technology and modular bay capability accommodating options such as a DVD drive, second battery, Blu-ray DiscTM drive or second hard disk drive. Even with a single battery, the LIFEBOOK T730 offers all-day runtime, due to energy-saving features such as an integrated Ambient Light Sensor that automatically adjusts display brightness to the working environment.

It is almost impossible to be out-of-contact while on the move with the LIFEBOOK T730 thanks to the optionally embedded mobile broadband (3G/UMTS) module featuring mobile download rates of up to 7.2 Mbit/s, the latest N-standard WLAN and Bluetooth 2.1 compatibility. Additionally, even the most geographically challenged mobile users will be able to make their next appointment using the built-in GPS module, as this pinpoints the notebook's exact location on the globe at any time.

For a mobile user, security is also a top priority. The new LIFEBOOK T730 offers biometric fingerprint logon, secure data encryption via optional TPM (Trusted Platform Module) and SmartCard support. Also available on the LIFEBOOK T Series is optional subscription-based ATP (Advanced Theft Protection) that enables a lost or stolen LIFEBOOK T730 to be remotely locked, have its data erased, then speedily recovered by assisting in identifying the notebook's current location.

Brad Hagan, product marketing manager for mobile clients at Fujitsu UK & Ireland, says: "Customers choose tablet PCs for their added functionality, convenience and greater flexibility. Fujitsu has a long history of producing high quality tablet PCs and the LIFEBOOK T730 is no exception. When choosing a tablet PC, it's important to look for the little touches that make life easier, such as a screen that will twist in both directions, the support for multi-touch, and superior connectivity options, all of which are provided in the LIFEBOOK T730."

The LIFEBOOK T730 is available immediately from Fujitsu resellers. Pricing starts at £1078 ex. VAT and varies according to configuration.
