Fourth-generation iPod touch caught on and with camera?

Somehow or other, the folks at Vietnamese website Tinhte.vn continue to get their hands on unannounced Apple products.

Following on from last week's next-gen iPhone reveal and the recent MacBook leak - which has since turned out to be true - said site is now showing off what appears to be an iPod touch equipped with a built-in camera.

The fourth-generation device, pictured above, appears to make use of the current iPod form factor but squeezes in a two megapixel Omnivision camera (part OV2665-6s).

However, whether or not this leak accurately represents a forthcoming iPod refresh remains a question mark. Similar devices have surfaced on eBay in recent weeks, and the DVT-1 tag attached to the back of the device suggests it's merely a prototype created by Apple's development team. Seems logical for the next-generation iPod touch to feature a camera, though, don't you think?

So the iPod is just an iPhone without the killer feature… a phone…

Why bother? If you want to be an iSheep get an iPhone an be done with it, 1 device no messing.

GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT if you actually want to city to the source of an article, it's a freaking VIETNAMESE WEBSITE, not taiwanese, and it was actually OBVIOUS from the extension of the url alone

Why bother? If you want to be an iSheep get an iPhone an be done with it, 1 device no messing.

The reason I went for a WinMo phone and an iPod Touch is to have two separate devices - one I can use in the car/on holiday and the other I can use for calls/texts/internet.

The reason I didn't want an iPhone is because compared with my WinMo phone, it has half the features and costs more a month. The reason I wanted an iPod Touch is because to me, it is one of the better MP3 players out there, and the nice clear screen was an advantage if I wanted to use it in conjuction with the WiFi I have available to me.

So it wasn't a matter of iSheep, it was the two different devices served different purposes, of which they were the best choice.

plus it can sometimes work out to be cheaper.

a iphne 3gs costs nearly 700 sim free. a htc desire is 400 and a ipod touch is around 220.

This tbh; I was also after a good media player and the features of the iPod Touch (especially the App Store, actually) were what I was after without the expense (I got my Touch second-hand for £120). I don't use my Touch HD for music, because next to the iPod, it's rubbish for it. But the superior (IMO) web browser of the Touch HD (i.e. Opera Mobile), better camera, and various other bits and bobs like not worrying about running down my phone battery when playing music mean having two devices wins over a single iPhone.
