We had the opportunity to sit down with Mark Tekunoff, senior technology manager at Kingston, and have a chat about the company's DDR3 memory roadmap for the next few months of 2010.

Kingston's HyperX range will continue to provide cutting-edge products for the enthusiast, he said. A case in point is the soon-to-be-released Intel LGA1156-orientated dual-channel kit of DDR3 RAM rated to a blistering 2.40GHz. Imbued with XMP settings and operating at the standard 1.65V the only compromise has been the loosening of frequencies.

At the other end of the scale, the company is debuting low-voltage DDR3 modules running with just 1.25V. Aimed at the energy-conscious geek, Kingston reckons the nascent market has potential.

Switching back the extreme end, Tekunoff provided us with a few more details on some watercooled HyperX modules designed for ultra-high-speed clocks.

But don't just take our word for it, here's Mark explaining Kingston's modules to yours truly.

2400 Mhz :surprised:

Those modules must literally ‘take off’.

Oh dear… I'm ever so sorry for that play on words there
